[Mainland China] Righteous thoughts give rise to miracles

A Dafa practitioner went to Beijing several times to appeal; due to her righteousness many miracles happened there. Below are a few anecdotes to share with other practitioners.

On one occasion, when she went to Tiananmen Square to validate Dafa. She thought, 'Let me circle the "People's Hero Memorial" three times so that all the people around can see me'. Indeed, she circled the memorial 3 times without interference, directly under the nose of uniformed and plainclothes policemen. Amazingly no one questioned her. Her actions attracted many tourists' attention. She then put a small banner across her body with the words "Falun Dafa" printed on it, which effectively promoted Dafa. When she was later detained and locked up on the 2nd floor, she thought, 'humans can not keep an enlightened being here'. She easily escaped from the 2nd floor and walked away.

On another occasion, she specially bought a huge costume to conceal a large Falun poster that she planned to display in Tiananmen Square. Upon arriving at Tiananmen Square, she raised the Falun poster, without being questioned by anyone, she solemnly walked with it for a few minutes. She felt that what she had done was not enough, and thought that she would hang the Falun poster up on the Rostrum of Tiananmen, so that more people could see it. However, in order to get up to the Rostrum of Tiananmen, one is required to pass through a gate guarded by armed policemen, who demand every passerby to curse Falun Dafa. She got an idea. Because she used to work in Guangxi province she said in the Guangxi dialect, "The Aomuzen sect is an evil sect". With that she was let upstairs. Once she was on the rostrum, she hung the gigantic Falun poster on the outside of the Tiananmen building, and the people in Square could see it. She was once again detained and this time locked up on the 4th floor. She once again thought: "A Dafa practitioner had to protect the Dafa (Great Law), and I shouldn't be kept here." With this righteous thought, she was able to easily and safelyh escape out of the window! When the police came to realize her absence, she had already taken a taxi and was long gone.

Practitioners' comments: our Teacher said to use Wisdom to validate the Dafa. If we can make good use of our cultivated sides to expound profound wisdom, then evil demons can do nothing to us, let alone ordinary bad people who can't even upset us. Moreover, validating the Dafa is not only limited to handing the truth about Dafa to people. By doing validation work and suppressing evil with righteous thoughts, we actually personally manifest the mighty virtue of Dafa in action. We should do that through all the various means we can come up with, including doing what people consider impossible. Isn't this also a potent form of validating Dafa? If 100 million Dafa practitioners as a whole all bear righteous thoughts, not being moved by any evil, then evil itself will become instantaneously self-extinguished.

[Mainland China ] Lanzhuo Police Sent Former Heart Disease Patient to Labor Camp

Recently, the Lanzhou Railroad Police Department (Lanzhou city, Gansu province) unscrupulously tricked a Falun Dafa practitioner, Niu Wanjiang (male, 48 years old) into leaving his home, and sent him against his will to the Pingantai labor camp for one year of 'labor-education'. Recently, the Dafa practitioners who were unlawfully sent to labor camps by Qilihe Police Department (Lanzhou City, Gansu province) include: Gao Jun (male, 34 years old, holding a Master degree in Science, Cadre of Gansu Forestry Department, Gansu province), Hua Jinchun (male, around 35 years old, Cadre of a real-estate company, fired from his job due to appealing, early this year). According to insiders, currently more than 50 Dafa practitioners are detained in the Pingantai labor camp.

Niu had a seriously heart disease before he started practicing Falun Gong. People who knew him all knew of his miraculous change, from a person who lived on medicine daily, bringing heavy financial burden both to his family and work unit, to a completely healthy person through practicing Falun Dafa.

On July 20 of last year (1999), Niu was unlawfully detained for 5 days by his work unit (employer) after going to file a petition at the appealing office of the provincial government. Every day 4 people on rotation shifts watched him, even in the restroom. Shortly after that incident, he was fired from work, losing his salary. He was forced to write " report", "Statement of Guarantee", "Statement of Joint Guarantee" etc., and his family was forced to sign these papers.

In November of last year, Niu was unlawfully detained for 15 days after returning from appealing in Beijing. On returning to his work unit, he was punished by being asked to leave the Party. He was deprived of his post as assistant statistician, not allowed to work, and left under surveillance in the office of the secretary of his work unit.

His wife (a worker at Lanzhou meat processing factory) was also fired for practicing Falun Dafa. Not only was her salary was suspended, but also her monthly basic living payment (money paid by former work unit for unemployment) was deducted. The leader of her work unit explained: "(The governments of) city and province have made this decision: Whoever practices Falun Gong will not be given any money; Go to Beijing if you can".

Because of practicing Falun Dafa, bravely speaking the truth about it and being a good person, Niu and his wife are without any means of making a living. Their almost 11-year-old child is deprived of his father and is facing the possibility of not being able to attend school any more.

[Mainland China] Sichuan Dafa Practitioner, Liao Ancai, was considered by police to be a "backbone" figure because of his firm belief in Falun Dafa

Liao Ancai has not come back home since he was summoned by the local police station to "chat with him about his understanding on the issue of Falun Gong" on September 21. His family members have not gotten any notice so far. There has been no news whatsoever about him. Liao Ancai's wife is also a Dafa practitioner and was forced to leave home. This left Liao's mother who is over eighty years old at home alone and cannot take care of herself, and a pair of children who are still in school. Both of them need to be taken care of. Liao's family was broken up, with his wife and children being separated by Jiang Zemin and his accomplices.

Family members are unable to remain together. The people cannot live and work with peace and contentment. The citizens' human rights are violated. This is the true situation as compared with the fabrication of the Chinese media about Jiang Zemin as creating "The best stage of human rights in China".

Now the "October 1st" (the national day in China) is approaching. All of us, the Dafa practitioners are waiting and watching whether Jiang Zemin and his lackeys will obstinately cling to their course to the end without regard for the will of the people.

[Mainland China] Falun Dafa Practitioners Brutally Tortured in Beijing Labor Camps

Recently a practitioner who had been kept imprisoned in Beijing at the Tiantanghe Labor Camp and Tuanhe Labor Camp revealed to his relatives the cruel means that the Beijing Labor Camps use to persecute Dafa practitioners. He mentioned that the instruments of torture that the labor camps punished Dafa practitioners with had never been used on prisoners. The viciousness was hard to describe in words. On the first day in the Labor Camp, a Dafa practitioner would receive electric shocks through his/her whole body for twenty-four hours. Meanwhile, the practitioner would receive forced brainwashing, being subjected constantly to the government's lies against Falun Gong. Then the practitioner would be forced to write a statement of repentance. Anyone who refused to do so would continue to be beaten, verbally abused and brainwashed. They were also not allowed to eat, drink or sleep. Those Dafa practitioners were continually tortured, and their bodies and minds had been wrecked severely.

If Dafa practitioners' family members wanted to visit them, the meeting methods were different than usual and were decided by police according to the "stage of transformation" of the practitioner. The practitioners who kept firmly cultivating Falun Dafa would be deprived of their right to receive visits by their relatives.

[Beijing] Police of Fengtai District, Beijing Mistreated Non-local Dafa Practitioners

On July 16, 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal against the unfair treatment of Falun Dafa in China. When I arrived in Beijing, I found that the gate of the appealing office had been closed. In that afternoon, some fellow practitioners brought me to a small courtyard in Fengtai District. One hour later, seven to eight police cars arrived. Policemen broke into the courtyard and arrested us, thirty-four practitioners. They ordered us to squat facing the wall. One twenty-year-old female practitioner refused to obey their orders. Instead, she sat with her legs crossed. Immediately several policemen beat her, kicked her, and twisted her arms. Her body was severely contorted, with her arms making cracking noises. One policeman stepped on her hand and crushed it. He kept crushing her hand until another policeman asked him to stop.

Those policemen rob us in broad daylight. They searched our bodies. Our three cellular phones and all other belongings were confiscated. A practitioner from southern China who was locked up in the same cell with me told me that there were two thousand Yuan RMB (Chinese currency) in the confiscated bag. She asked policeman for the money when she was released. The policeman said:" We didn't take it. I don't know. The policemen from the substation did it. "

After I was arrested, the police questioned me about where I had come from. I didn't answer. They demanded again. I said that I was Chinese. A policeman ferociously slapped my face. Two hour later when it became dark, we were taken away. One practitioner was not even allowed to wear shoes. We were taken to a room that looked like a cafeteria and were interrogated one by one. All of us refused to give our addresses. As a result each of us was kicked several times. Then we were sent to different local police stations.

At 11pm, I was taken to Taipingqiao Local Police Station, FengTai district, and locked up in a small cell that was only about three square meters, but which held six practitioners. I was interrogated shortly after I arrived and could be interrogated at any time. I was given nothing to eat and drink during the two days of my detention.

In the afternoon September 18, they took me to a room where there were two policemen. One fat, strong, and big uniformed policeman (about thirty years old) and another middle-sized tall plainclothes policeman (about forty years old) both beat me. They slapped my face. They took off their black uniform shoes to fiercely strike my head and face. When they were tired, they put their shoes back on. They felt that they hadn't worked off their anger. They held my hair tightly while pulling it and kicking me. A lot of my hair was pulled out. The plainclothes policeman, seated on a chair with a baton in hand ordered me to stretch out my hand. I refused. So they beat me with the baton. They stepped on my hand, viciously crushing it. I drew my hand back. They stepped on and crushed my feet. Another large policeman even jumped on my leg. I felt so much pain that I cried constantly. I drew back my feet, exerting all my strength. They ordered me to stretch out my feet. If I did not, they beat me with the baton and trampled on my legs and feet. Now my arms, hands, legs and feet were covered with blue and purple bruises. When my back was beaten with the baton, I hardly could breathe. I had not eaten anything for two days.

My one-hundred-pound body was drenched with sweat. Those two beasts forced me to stand straight as they kicked at my ankles. I fell down. That big-sized uniformed policeman stepped on my neck and stomped with all his strength. I was almost suffocated, not even able to cry, but with golden stars blinking in my eyes. They tortured me for about one hour. I rammed into a wall when they weren't paying attention. They grabbed me and I failed. They became very angry, and kicked and beat me more vigorously. The blood dripped from my head. My arms and hands were injured pitifully. I almost lost consciousness. I fell down on the ground twitching. They cursed unceasingly and poured cold water on my body. When I woke up, they ordered me to stand up and walk. I stood up with my hands against the wall, bearing severe pain. I found that the left half of my body could hardly move. "We will beat you to death if you come to Beijing again!", they shouted at me.

Finally they released me. A policeman of the local police station told me that it was the policemen form the police substation that had beaten me. I crawled out the local police station. I lay down on the ground about ten meters to the local police station for over three hours before I could stand up.

This was my experience as a law-abiding citizen of the republic, a Dafa practitioner who never fought back when being beaten, in the "great" capital of my home country.

[Mainland China] Practitioners in a city were assaulted while trying to appeal to the central government

After the suppression of Falun Gong on July 22nd 1999 by Jiang Zemin and his cohorts, practitioners from all over the country took various channels to appeal to government leaders to clarify the facts, and hoped that the central government would clear the name of Falun Dafa. Nine practitioners in our city went to Beijing to appeal, but were arrested by police even before they submitted their appeal. Some of them were detained for 7 days; others were detained for 15 days.

At the end of October, about 20 to 30 practitioners from our city went to Beijing to safeguard the Fa (law and principles). Practitioners who had been to Beijing twice were sent to labor camps by local law enforcement -- one practitioner was sentenced for two years, one for one and a half years, and two for one year.

On the New Year's eve of 2000, dozens of practitioners from our city practiced the Dafa exercises in a park to celebrate, but the policemen from the local Security Bureau detained more than 40 of us. The practitioners kept on studying the Fa and doing exercises in the prison, but they had icy water poured on them and their study materials were taken away by force. Practitioners began a hunger strike in the prison to show their unchangeable heart towards Dafa cultivation. Some of them were detained for 7 days, some for 15 days. Nine of them were detained again after 15 days in custody. On January 8th of the Chinese lunar calendar, the policemen asked six practitioners' relatives to pay a RMB 2000 bond each before they would be released.

During February and March, for no reason the local police department detained more than ten practitioners from their homes. Some were held in custody for 15 days, some for nearly a month. The practitioners taken from their homes were charged with "violation of the public safety" or "suspected of breaking the law".

Even under such difficult conditions, more than 30 practitioners went to Beijing to appeal again: the youngest practitioner was only 4 years old, the eldest was 75 years old. For all the people who saw this, could their hearts not be moved? They have all benefited from the Dafa, and they traveled thousands of kilometers to Beijing just to tell the government that Falun Dafa was good. Why can't the government tell the truth? In Beijing, some of them were continuously interrogated for 30 to 40 hours, some for over 10 hours, some were aggressively beaten, and some were fined. More than ten practitioners were held in custody for over three months, and some are still in prison today.

Between the end of April and the beginning of May, the local police department again detained several practitioners who only exercised at home. One practitioner's wife was already detained after she went to Beijing, but the policemen detained the husband for over a month ignoring the fact that they still had to take care of two young children. Among them, some were detained for 15 days; some have been in prison for over 4 months, where they remain today.

On June 3rd and 4th, local policemen detained some practitioners from their homes. The policemen asked practitioners' relatives to pay a 5000 Yuan RMB ransom, and threatened them that if they didn't pay the money, the police would force psychiatric treatment on the practitioners in a mental hospital.

One practitioner was taken away from home on June 19th, and was interrogated many times. At the end of June, the practitioner was sent to the "Bailing Tou" detention center; he was beaten and interrogated continuously more than ten hours.

At the end of June, more than ten practitioners went to Beijing to appeal. Some of them had all their property (entire house with all valuables) confiscated. Because one practitioner could not afford to pay the RMB2000 guarding fee to the police, the police went to her home and took away her TV and furniture. Police also took away property from some other practitioners.

In early July, eight or nine practitioners went to Beijing to appeal. They were caught by the police and beaten with sticks. Another practitioner Chen stayed at home, but policemen climbed to the second floor, broke a large hole in the door, and then took her into custody for 20 days. Some other practitioners were also put into detention centers or custody after being taken from their homes by force. A mother and daughter were fined RMB 5000.

In early August, a batch of practitioners were sentenced to one to three years into labor camps.

[Mainland China] Policemen in Beijing Shunyi District Act like Hooligans

Haijun Tian, male, 39 years old, was a law enforcement employee of Shunyi Police Substation Beijing. According to some practitioners' experiences, this policeman had the following brutish behavior:

1. On October 1999, he mercilessly beat up a young female practitioner from Hainan province. He continuously slapped her face until her fine pretty face became black and blue. The bruising was still clearly visible even after three days later, when the practitioner was escorted back to Hainan province.

2. Maliciously beating two female practitioners who were twins. He forced them kneel with their faces down and bottoms up, and kicked them.

3. While interrogating a female practitioner, he wrote down filthy words to reprimand her and sexually harassed and abused her.
