Practitioners in Canada Start Long-Term Fa Promotion and Practice in Front of the Chinese Consulate

Oct. 23, 2000 |   Toronto practitioners

After obtaining permission from the appropriate government department, practitioners in Canada have been doing group practice in front of the Chinese Consulate since October 3. The practice time is Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 11:30am. On October 16, practitioners held a candlelight vigil with more than 100 participants.

Every morning during the working week, practitioners who finished working night shifts go directly to the Consulate. Those who work in the afternoon come to practice before heading to work. Some elder practitioners come every day. The morning time is when many people come to apply for visas and pick up passports for travelling or visiting relatives in China. While waiting in line, it's a good opportunity for them to see practitioners practicing. The scene is peaceful and quiet, and the practitioners' benevolent minds were changing the surrounding atmosphere. People walk quietly when passing by, and many stop and watch our practice, pick up a flyer, or sign their names to show support. Nobody believes what the Chinese government says about such peaceful people.

During the candlelight vigil, we placed a big wreath by the road with the Chinese character "mourning" on it. Together, with the photos or names of practitioners who were persecuted to death and the candlelight, the whole place was filled with solemn silence. Over one hundred practitioners sat silently, while Dafa music echoed in the sky. The scene deeply shook every passerby's heart. Many media came to report about us and took pictures. Practitioners in Canada will continue these activities in a persistent and long-term manner. With benevolent hearts, we vow to expose to the world the evil's wicked and shameful crimes. The time when people in the world all see through Jiang Zemin's evil nature will be the day that all the evil people will become extinct.
