[Guangzhou] "Heavenly Girls Scattering Flowers" to Pedestrians and Professors

"Heavenly Girls Scattering Flowers": Thousands of Dafa leaflets drifted down from the top floor of the most prominent building in Guangzhou, Wangfujing Plaza on October 29. Tourists and pedestrians in the area were eager to catch hold of the leaflets and many held on to them after they finished reading and put them into their handbags.

Mailing to Campuses: Professors on university campuses in Guangzhou have recently started receiving mail containing Dafa materials. The contents include articles like "The Historical Responsibility that Jiang Zemin Cannot Shrug Off" and other leaflets that clarify the truth of Dafa and expose those who are responsible for the vicious persecution. A famous professor who teaches Ph.D. candidates said after reading the materials: "Although I don't know much about the theory of Falun Gong, but I think people should be allowed to have their beliefs. Just like Buddhism and Christianity, people's freedom of belief should be permitted. Issues of faith cannot be resolved by suppression." Many of the professors who received the letters seem to share the same view.

[Yantai, Shandong Province] Security Guard Pours Boiling Water On Practitioner

Xu Chengben was a practitioner of Yantai Fishing Company. He went to Beijing to appeal and was arrested by local police. After he was released, the security department of his work unit took him back to the work unit. The security director asked: "Who is Li Hongzhi?" Xu answered: "He is my teacher." This question and answer was repeated three times. Then, the security director took a pot of scalding hot water and poured it on Xu's head. He asked the question again and Xu gave the same answer. So he poured another pot of hot water on Xu's head. Then a third time he asked the question and Xu answered, he poured a third pot of hot water. Xu's head and face were burned and the scars still remain. After this, he used handcuffs to lock Xu to the iron front gate of the work unit to show this punishment to the people passing by. Brutality and mercilessness are at the extreme.

[Niutang, Jiangsu Province] Policeman Dies Shortly After Brutally Beating Practitioners

Some practitioners from Niutang, Jiangsu Province stepped forward to validate Falun Dafa and were arrested by policemen from Niutang. One of the policemen maliciously beat one of the practitioners and the practitioner bore the torture silently without any hatred toward the policeman. Later on, the practitioner asked the policeman kind-heartedly what he would do if the process of Dafa rectification were successfully concluded. The policeman said without even thinking: "Let me die." A few days after the conversation, the policeman suddenly died.

That policeman was tall, strong and healthy. His death stunned the other policemen and since then, the policemen have not dared to brutally beat Dafa practitioners.

[Jiamusi, Heilongjia Province] Special Agents Defraud Family Members Of Detained Practitioners

In Jiamusi city, there are two people surnamed Zhang and Cao who are pretending to be Dafa practitioners who contact family members of detained practitioners. They claim that they can help bail out detained practitioners and, in this way, they've defrauded tens of thousands of RMB yuan (Chinese dollars). They also pretend to distribute Falun Gong materials so as to gain the trust of genuine practitioners. That way they can find out the source of the materials and who is going to Beijing. Then they inform the police of where to go to search the homes of practitioners. Several practitioners have had their houses searched to date.

[Shandong Province] Recent Events in Shandong

1. During the National Day holidays, banners were seen on Weilai Freeway and the Laixi section of Yanqing First Grade Highway in Shangdong with the words "Falun Dafa is the Righteous Fa (law)", "Falun Dafa is good", etc. This magnificent move of practitioners forcefully validated the mighty power of Dafa and will help to suppress the evil forces.
2. Around October 20, huge banners were hung up along major streets in Laixi City with the words "Falun Dafa" and "Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance)." This surprised the people of the town, encouraged practitioners, and tremendously frightened those enforcing the persecution.
3. Recently, the [Chinese Communist] Party Committee of Laixi City called for a meeting of directors in charge of each working unit based on orders from the Party Committee of Qingdao City. Tasks were handed down to all those in attendance to inform on those practitioners who distribute materials to reveal the truth about Dafa. It demanded that all cadres and workers not pass along or read any Falun Gong materials. If received, these materials must be destroyed immediately. At the same time, a telephone number to receive informants' calls was given to the public. The reward is set at 300 RMB Yuan (about US$38, or half a month's salary of an average worker). This is to encourage people to betray each other and sell out innocent people. We shall denounce this de-moralizing policy. To date, the following practitioners have been sentenced to labor re-education from Laixi City: Gao Yang (male), Li Guoxiu (male), Wu Guoqing (female), Zhao Hongyong (male), Ju Ruihong (female), and Zhan Shuxin (male).
4. The Party Committee of Qingtao City in Shangdong Province has announced the malicious "Severely Cracking Down" policy. It took October 1 as a dividing date line. For all practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal, to practice, or to unfurl banners after this date, "Triple Expulsion" will be applied: Party members will be expelled from the Party; Students will be expelled from school; and Government office clerks will be expelled from public duty. Practitioners who have been to Beijing or distributed Dafa materials on several occasions will be categorized as key members and organizers of Falun Gong and will all be sentenced to three years of labor reeducation.
5. In late October, the public security departments of Laiyang City in Shandong province arrested many practitioners who had printed Dafa materials and others who were involved in administration. The details of their experiences are not known. The former head of the Laiyang Dafa assistance center, Song Suguang was arrested. Also arrested at the same time were Song Jilong, Liu Aili and others.
6. Because the number of Dafa practitioners from Jiaozhou City ranked number one in Qingdao City among those who went to Beijing and unfurled banners or practiced in Tiananmen Square during the time around October 1, the Party Committee of Jiaozhou City was severely criticized by the Party Committee of Qingdao City. The vicious forces in Jiaozhou City have subsequently escalated their persecution against Dafa and Dafa practitioners. Over twenty practitioners have been sent to the remote northwest region of China for labor reeducation and over seventy people have been detained. As reported previously on Minghui Net, the Jiaozhou Politics and Law Commission is still carrying out the evil act of using mental hospitals to persecute practitioners. The former head of the Jiaozhou Dafa assistance center Zhou Caixia and other two practitioners have successfully escaped from the mental hospital and are now homeless.

1. One Dafa practitioner was captured by a hoodlum while distributing materials. Sources say that the Public Security Department of Shijiazhuang had hired many hooligans and offered them a reward of RMB5000 (US$602) for arresting a Dafa practitioner. Their aim was to stop practitioners from revealing the facts about how Jiang Zemin and his followers are oppressing the people who practice Falun Gong. We hope practitioners will use their wisdom to break this vicious scheme.
2. Because more than 50 practitioners from Xinji Shijiazhuang city went to Beijing to appeal during the national day holidays, many city government officials were dismissed from their positions. Two of them were the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Xinji city and the Mayor. They complained that they had followed all orders from the 610 offices during the national day holidays and that they had used both the administrative and Public Security channels to monitor Falun Gong practitioners. The monitoring and controlling tasks were subcontracted down to every layer of those two channels to stop any practitioners from going to Beijing. They also said that the government should lead and control the people who practice Falun Gong so as to guide the force to contribute to economic development. The present merciless brutal suppression cannot be accepted by the people and has caused anti-government sentiments among the people. People were no longer even allowed to appeal through legal channels, and more and more practitioners were driven to go to Beijing to appeal. Without solving the basic problem of what causes people to go to Beijing but instead, using various ways to shut people's mouths and put them into custody, it is obvious that the policy is wrong. They added that because of Jiang Zemin's wrong decision to deprive people of their freedom and to kill the innocent, the higher officials put the responsibility on us to enforce the wrong policy. We believe that there will be more and more officials dismissed because they were unable to carry out these incorrect orders.

[Beijing] Two Practitioners Arrested While Distributing Materials

Xu Peihong, a practitioner of Shijingshan Beijing was arrested by two policemen from Babaoshan police station in the evening of September 27^th while distributing Falun Gong materials. She has still not been released.

Chen Hong, another practitioner, was arrested on September 27^th evening in Dongcheng District, Beijing while distributing materials. So far there is no information about her whereabouts.
