According to Duowei Chinese news net, Jin-chun Huang, 34, who was a judge of the Beihai City Intermediate People's Court, was sent to a mental hospital because of his belief in Falun Dafa. He was injected sedatives with damaging side effects.

On February 4, Huang Jin-chun was allowed to go home to spend the Lunar New Year's Day with his family members. He then asked his family members to contact the Hong Kong Information Center for Human Rights about his sufferings. Huang would be sent back to the mental hospital after the Chinese New Year. He hoped that the international communities could pay attention to the mistreatments against him.

Jin-chun Huang went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in September 1999, which upset the authorities of the Political and Legal Committee of Guang-xi Province. On November 15 of last year, two police officers arrested him and threw him into a mental hospital. They told him that it was the decision of the provincial public security department.

Because Jin-chun Huang continued to practice Falun Gong in the mental hospital, the hospital imposed him injections of sedatives everyday to make him sleepy. It was said that these injections have strong side effects and could damage one's mental abilities.

The information center said that there were practitioners who were sent to mental hospitals in all over the China. For example, in December last year, about 50 practitioners were sent to the Zhou-kou-dian mental hospital in Beijing. The above facts indicated that detaining normal people in mental hospitals might be a way for the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong practitioners.
