A Falun Dafa T-Shirt and Clarifying the Truth

Sept. 18, 2000

The bright Falun Dafa T-shirts were a wonderful street scene during the UN Millennium Summit in New York. They attracted unsurpassed attention from ordinary citizens and tourists, as well as political leaders worldwide. Gracious Americans expressed their support of Falun Dafa by inquiring the whereabouts of purchasing the Falun Dafa T-shirt. Since the practitioners did not anticipate such inquiries, they could only inform them it was not for sale.

They became puzzled and made remarks such as, "Not for sale? Then how did you raise money, and how did you gather support from the people?"

To this the practitioners replied, "We are all volunteers, and we use our own money for all the activities."

The Americans said, "It would be very nice if we could purchase the T-shirts. This way we could directly support your cause."

After such circumstances it became clear that on one hand, it is both the Falun Dafa practitioner's ability as well as his duty to clarify the truth. On the other hand, it is also within the ability of a sympathetic person with a gracious heart. If a compassionate person could step forward to help us to clarify the truth, the whole task of clarification could be carried out conveniently and to a broader audience. At the same time, this person will also position his life and future in a more extraordinary spot.

Since we are clarifying the truth to people, we should take any manner or approach that is effective. One possible idea would be making provisions so friends of Falun Gong would be selling Falun Dafa T-shirts to the public to show their support. Imagine the kind of effect and outcome of countless people wearing Falun Dafa T-shirts all over the world, voluntarily promoting Falun Dafa's cause! Firstly, they would represent broader appeal. Secondly, as local people, they would appeal to their fellow citizens without barrier of language, culture or ethnic background. Thirdly, their position would be both impartial and neutral. To the audience, their presentation would appear to be unbiased and fair, thus readily acknowledged.

To differentiate the practitioners' efforts from non-practitioners', the practitioners could devise different signs and banners, as well as adopt distinctive colors. If the practitioners could provide some convenience and assistance for people willing to help us, we could be doubly effective in our effort in promoting Falun Dafa and to clarify the truth. Above is my personal opinion.
