Local Media Report on Falun Gong activities in Bury St. Edmunds, a small town in England

Nov. 2, 2001

Last month, Cambridge and Ipswich practitioners planned truth clarifying activities in a small town called Bury St. Edmunds in England. Despite the heavy rain, no one complained and carried on with the activities. Later the rain stopped and more and more people began passing by. We also started to distribute leaflets and newspapers and asked people to sign the petition. With the soothing Falun Gong music playing, we felt very happy. A reporter turned up and interviewed us. He seemed very satisfied after listening to our answers to his questions.

Later on, some of us went to a meeting scheduled with Amnesty International [AI]. The meeting was very successful and as a result it took almost two hours instead of the scheduled one hour.

During the day's activities we had given out a thousand leaflets, eight pages of signatures had been collected and a number of people asked us about the practice sites, and so on. Some children also tried to follow the exercises we were performing. Two ladies from the AI meeting also joined our exercises after the meeting and we concluded the activities with happy hearts at about 5pm. A few days later, an article was published in the local newspaper as shown below:
