(Clearwisdom.net) Within the community of cultivators, some hold the belief that we should not care about any changes in the human world, because they are caused by changes in the "cosmic climate." They think that we don't have to do anything today, as everything will change naturally when the cosmic change takes place.
Cosmic climates exist on both a large and small scale. Human beings regard as cosmic climates those that lead to changes in human society. But shouldn't changes on a greater scale, like changes of the whole Milky Way, also be considered a change in the cosmic climate as well? Shouldn't changes in the cosmic body that is made up of innumerable small universes also be considered a cosmic climate? Shouldn't the changes in the immeasurable and boundlessly vast firmament created by Dafa also be considered a cosmic climate? These are all cosmic phenomena. All of these cosmic phenomena will have their manifestations in the human world and will bring about a kind of social condition, and at the same time, all cosmic phenomena obey and conform to changes on a higher level.
1. About Human Beings
"Without human action happening under cosmic changes, such conditions would not have been brought to ordinary human society, and neither would they be called cosmic changes." (Zhuan Falun, Chapter Seven: "The Issue of Killing")
History tells us that people, as a whole, will definitely take actions under the cosmic changes. Such actions themselves are part of the cosmic changes and are inevitable. However, as individuals, we can freely choose our own actions, and that is why there is a saying "Those who conform to the cosmic change will flourish and those who go against it will perish." At present, people want to wait for ready-made things under the cosmic change, but that is actually thinking of the cosmic climate using human's notions and trying to take advantage of the situation. This thought itself is degenerate.
2. About Cultivators
Now let's look at cultivators. In the past, some cultivators would not take action or participate in some changes in the human world. This was because they did not exist within the scope of these cosmic changes, thus, they were not included. However, if the cosmic changes surpassed this level so that they were included within the changes, what should they do then? "Buddhas, Taos and Gods all follow heaven's will." ("For Whom Do You Practice Cultivation" from Essentials For Further Advancement) They should act according to heaven's will. What if they did not do anything? If in this situation they failed to do what they were supposed to do, they would be going against the law of the universe, and would definitely receive retribution.
Now, let's take a look at Dafa's Fa-rectification: the whole cosmos is being renewed. This is a change in the entire cosmos; who can exist outside of this? Who dares not be within it? Beings at extremely high levels are positioning themselves by what they have done, not to mention people in the process of cultivation. Dafa creates all life. If a being in the Fa says he's not within the Fa, it will not be simply an issue of presumptuousness in the sense of ordinary people. When an apple is so arrogant that it wants to separate from the tree, what consequence could it have other than to rot? In the past, even ordinary people knew it was dreadful to go against the will of heaven. Yet, Dafa's Fa-rectification is the greatest phenomenon in the cosmos; going against this is the greatest undermining of heaven's will.
Master Li said, "How could any being be outside this calamity? I behold with a smile all of the Gods being unwise." ("Rectifying the Colossal Firmament") A cultivator is only a divine being within a certain realm of the universe after completing cultivation. Although he is magnificent compared to the levels below him, he is still very insignificant when viewed from higher and higher realms of Dafa. If a divine being is considered "unwise" because he cannot establish a righteous understanding in the current cosmic climate, and ignorantly thinks he is not involved in it, would it not "be unwise" for a cultivator as well?
This is also unlike things in the ordinary human society. By doing nothing, one does not expect to perform any meritorious service, but can feel secure knowing he is not making any mistakes. This idea does not apply in Dafa cultivation, because higher-level beings do not pay attention to any form, and instead only look at people's hearts. Cultivators' not doing anything itself shows their selfishness. If for their own benefit, cultivators fail to do something they should do, then that is going against the will of heaven, and they will position themselves by this single thought.
That the Fa will rectify the human world is an inevitable cosmic phenomenon; however, during this process, our human sides have to do well. This was part of our mission in coming to the human world.
