The Most Meaningful Lecture

Dec. 28, 2001

(Clearwisdom.net)

I am a high school teacher. One day, I was assigned as a substitute to teach a class. As I stepped into the classroom, a student said to me, "Teacher, you are a Falun Gong practitioner." I was surprised and happy to hear him say that. He said that he saw me on TV (a local TV station had interviewed some practitioners and broadcast the news a while ago). I believed that this was an opportunity to clarify the truth, so I continued on the topic and asked the class, "Do you know about Falun Gong? Do you know that only China is persecuting Falun Gong?" Some students nodded their heads, and some others laughed. After I felt that most students were ready for further clarification, I said to myself, "I'll use the strongest and the purest righteous thoughts to clarify the truth and to eliminate all evil interference."

I started to introduce Falun Gong to the class. I told them the story of Falun Gong, starting from the time when it was first introduced to up until the current events of China's persecution, and also told them about the rescue activities around the world. All my words were sincere and serious. I briefly introduced the Fa principles of "De (virtue)" and "Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance)," described the Chinese regime's brutal persecution, and talked about the practitioners' great compassion and great forbearance. The introduction lasted half an hour. As I saw that the students concentrated on listening to me, I knew their lives were saved! Later, I asked them if they had questions. Some asked me how to search for more information on the Internet, some wanted me to demonstrate the exercise movements, and some showed their interest in learning Falun Gong. I encouraged them to explain the truth to their friends and families.

After using this unintentional lecture to clarify the truth, I realized that Teacher's compassion is boundless. He continues to give opportunities to the practitioners as well as to all beings. Some opportunities may require the practitioners to create them themselves, but some may just come up suddenly. So we should constantly maintain righteous thoughts and seize every opportunity to clarify the truth.
