Typhoon Ute Sweeps Across Guangdong and Guangxi Provinces As It Assaults Southern China

July 12, 2001

(Clearwisdom.net) According to AFP's report from Hong Kong on July 6, the number of people killed by typhoon Ute on the coast of the South China Sea has increased to 78.

It was also reported by an E-magazine (News on Internet) that since tropical storm Ute hit the Chinese mainland, it has gradually reduced its intensity. It is affecting Guangxi Province and causing heavy rains throughout the province. In the capital city of Nanning, the water level of the Hujiang River has risen to 77 meters [about 252 feet] and has far exceeded the warning level (flood stage). When Ute was sweeping across Guangdong Province, 5.68 million people were affected and at least 3 people died. The economic losses reached 2.1 billion Chinese Yuan [about US$253 million]. The main areas affected include Shantou, Chaozhou, Jieyang, Meizhou, Huizhou and Shanwei City, in which a total of 4,700 homes were destroyed. Among these areas the disaster in Chaozhou was the most serious. Over 30,000 hectares of crops were destroyed and 15 fishing boats were sunk.

Question: Why did this unusual typhoon inflict heavy losses in Guangdong, Guangxi and other coastal areas?

Answer: These two provinces have committed too many crimes in their persecution of Falun Gong. They cannot be told in just a few words.
