(Clearwisdom.net ) I am a Falun Dafa practitioner from Daqin, Heilongjang Province. Local police caught me when they uncovered an underground printing site on the afternoon of July 3rd. On that day, policemen from Zhaodong Public Security Department searched my home without permission and arrested me along with two other practitioners who were present. That evening, they took us to Zhaodong Public Security Department.
We arrived at 9 pm. Ren Diansheng, two other policemen and Liu Weizhong, the head administrator, interrogated me after chaining me to a "torture stool" and handcuffing my arms to a chair behind me. They demanded that I tell them my name, but I refused. They then started to beat me, using a leather belt to lash at my legs, arms, and back. The pain was unspeakable. My entire body was quickly covered with dark bruises.
Liu showed me an article from the Internet and said to me, exasperatedly, "Look! It says I'm evil. Do you want to see evil? Say that I'm evil; I am! I will beat you..." He proceeded to furiously yell and beat me continuously. But I still felt compassion for his and the others' gravely deceived human sides. And I did not reveal my name.
Since I refused to tell my name, they utterly lost all sense of humanity. They desperately tortured me and as a result of the beating, my arms, legs, and entire back were covered with black and purple. Prolonged beatings can lead to a condition where the blood clots and further ruptures the flesh, leaving a victim with permanent muscular damage. So he would not have to take responsibility for such a situation, Liu would take breaks from beating me to disperse the stagnant blood with vigorous rubbing. When the blood was cleared, he resumed beating me... The pain was beyond description.
Liu and a policeman named Zhao also used needles to make me give in and tell them my name. They jabbed at my legs to the point where they were puffy and festering, leaking out clotted blood. I still did not cooperate with them and instead, sent out righteous thoughts, reciting in my mind, "The Fa rectifies the Cosmos, the Evil is completely eliminated." The policemen soon received retribution. One suffered a stomachache and the other had a heart attack. They had to stop and left the room.
Two other policemen maliciously told me, "If you still don't tell us your name, we'll burn your Teacher's portrait." One of them tore up Teacher's picture and tried to ignite a piece of the paper. He tried two times but could not get the paper to burn. The whole night, I endured this environment. When I could, I told them about the principle of just retribution for one's actions and that Dafa is good.
On the second day, they changed their strategy. They read letters written by those persons who had enlightened along an evil path. After an hour, they gave up, exhausted. The whole time, I did not budge at all. I kept reciting, "Firmly cultivate Dafa with an unaffected heart and mind." ("True Nature Revealed," Essentials for Further Advancement.)
At that moment, a drunk policeman entered the room, demanding that I tell him my name as he prodded my festering legs. It felt like he was cutting off my flesh.
They changed their tactics again. Liu tightened the handcuffs at my back so that they cut into my flesh. They then lifted my arms away from my back to a 90-degree position. At least two policemen pressed on my shoulder blades to grind the bones together. They pulled my hair back, forced my eyes open and blew into them. They called it "flying an airplane." I lost consciousness many times because of the pain. Every time, they revived me with cold water and continued. I don't know how long this went on. My arms and legs turned totally numb and, eventually, so did my entire body.
At dusk, Liu, Ren and a couple of other policemen told me that their director had reprimanded them because of me. The director had told them that they were useless for not having gotten my name after a whole night and day of interrogation and torture. They started to beat me again, this time using electric batons. When Liu was shocking me with an electric baton, the electric current reversed, shocking him. He jumped back and yelped in pain. Ren then took over and kept shocking me until he also got shocked. They then wrapped the baton in plastic sheets. But it soon malfunctioned. Then they plugged an electric baton directly into the wall socket. While one shocked me, three others seized my hair and stretched my arms apart. Exposing my body to the shocks like that made me tremble all over. I felt that my heart would explode. Then another policeman started to beat my legs with a bamboo stick. I could feel death coming upon me and I almost lost consciousness. At that moment, I prayed from the depths of my heart, "Save me, Teacher!" I abruptly got a shock over my entire body, but then, an enormous feeling of strength and hope for life filled my entire being. When that feeling came, the police immediately stopped the torture.
They had been beating me for hours, yet I still hadn't given them my name. They asked me why. I told them it was for the sake of innocent people who would be implicated if I did and also because that information would only add to the overall persecution. Liu and Ren asked me if I hated them. I told them no. I said that practitioners cultivate themselves to become better people and to get rid of illnesses. I then asked them why they wanted to arrest me and why they were so cruel to me. They said they were only following orders from higher authorities.
They told me that they would stop beating me and instead send me to a detention center. I said I didn't want to go because I hadn't broken any laws. I asked them to release me unconditionally, but they forcibly sent me to the Zhaodong Detention Center.
In the midst of the illegal detention and inhuman persecution, I decided to safeguard Dafa with my life and hold a hunger strike. On the eighth day, I decided that I had to leave to tell people the truth and to expose the evil of the detention centers. I proposed a meeting with the policeman in charge of my case and he happened to be there that day. I told him that Falun Gong practitioners are all good people and that I had not broken any law. I asked him to release me. He said that such a request was a major issue and not one that he could handle by himself. He then called the Director, Mr. Li, of the Public Security Department. When he hung up the phone, he said that Mr. Li was on his way over. He then left the room, leaving me alone in the interrogation room. I calmed down and immediately noticed that there was a chair right under a window. I used it to climb up and squeeze out of the window. I used a TV antenna to get up to the roof of the building and from there jumped to a ten-foot high wall. I let myself down on the other side of the wall and finally left the evil den known as Zhaodong Detention Center. The escape took only a mere two minutes.
With the police coming after me, wounds covering my body, and the fatigue of seven days' hunger strike, I sent forth righteous thoughts as I ran. I felt light, and as if I were flying. That night, I trudged fifteen kilometers through muddy fields. The night was windy and raining. Cold and hungry, I hid myself in a pile of firewood until morning. The second morning, I didn't even have the strength to speak. A kind-hearted woman from the countryside saved me. Then, I found a generous driver who lent me a hand. Finally free, I again merged into the great current of Fa-rectification.
