A Kind Hearted Driver: If I Am Asked to Transport Falun Gong Practitioners to the Camps Again, I Will Simply Let Them Go

Sept. 17, 2001

Because of the unique relationship between our department manager and the Chief of the local police station, very often our departmental vehicles are borrowed and used by the police to transport criminals to labor camps. Ever since the persecution of Dafa practitioners began, the young driver of one of the vehicles had discovered that the Dafa practitioners arrested by the police all seemed innocent. They were a considerate bunch of people, ready to help the needy and sacrifice their own benefit when necessary. "What's happened with the police? They must have arrested the wrong people," he thought.

The practitioners they arrested were not violent, both in their manners and speech. They were quiet, calm, and peaceful on arrest, and often tried to explain the greatness of Dafa, their miraculous experiences, and the reason why they went to Beijing to appeal to the higher authorities. However, those police would not listen but said to them scornfully, "Don't tell me all this. The decision came from the top. We arrest all those who practice Falun Gong. If you have anything to say, tell the people at the top. We only carry out orders, and we don't care about other things." The young driver was extremely displeased with their remarks.

One day, while on duty, the driver saw a young man being dragged and kicked by a few police who were trying to drag him into the police van. The driver could not hold himself back any longer. "Stop!" he said, "Didn't you see that this man didn't even resist when you abused him? What wrong did he do, practicing Falun Gong? Haven't you finished yet? I think you people are more evil than anyone else. He is the good one, I can see." The police were speechless.

On returning home, he told his wife (also a practitioner of Dafa) about this incident, and she showed him a copy of Dafa material clarifying the truth. After reading the material, he said he could only remember one sentence, "A person gains infinite virtue saving a Dafa practitioner, and commits a huge crime when persecuting one. If I am asked to transport Dafa practitioners to the camp again, I will simply let them go."

Recently, the police have been busy getting the fingerprints of all Falun Gong practitioners. They have been trying to find out where those Dafa materials came from. The young driver said to a local police officer, "My wife practices Falun Gong. She is following the principles of Dafa, living as a good person, and asking others to live up to that standard as well. She has done the right thing, and I support her. If you people continue doing things like this, I will join her Falun Gong practice as well. I want to be a good person too."
