Arttoon Gazette: A New Song for the World

Sept. 27, 2001 |   By Kenneth Corbin Brooks, Ph.D

September, 2001

[Clearwisdom Editor's note] Upon learning the news that Mr. Li Hongzhi has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize of 2001 from other independent news sources, Dr. Brooks, an editor, writer and legislative activist, wrote this letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee.

á[Arttoon Gazette Editor's Note]áWe do not need your money, rather, they need your help! Send this to everyone you know, Then to every News organization, politician, staff member, every Mayor, every State official, every foreign paper.á Letters to every editor and T.V. Producer you can find.á Put it into envelopes to every Senator, Congressperson and The President.á This can be a new technological use for good.á We can stop the atrocities against the innocents. All of them.á

This, to bring to the world's attention the need to re-evaluate the forces of good. Beneath the radar of existing Political and social structures exists a worldwide movement 100 million strong. This movement was created by the people and for the people that love God. A man with a strange name, Li Hongzhi, has given the world a new song. The singer, according to his own words, is unimportant. Property, prestige, controversy and materialism are not in the lyrics of this gentle music. Honor, humility, truth, compassion and forbearance constitute the refrain. This choir sings in towns, cities, villages and churches, mosques and temples in over forty countries of the world. Scripturally, they have become the salt of the earth.

ááá Because they cannot be directly controlled, they are persecuted, beaten and killed, imprisoned and declared enemies of the state by the country of their birth. They have never, even in the name of defense, injured their persecutors. Not a single policeman or soldier has ever reported a scratch. They rely, as did Ghandi and Martin Luther King, on the compassionate stance of their position. Peace and tolerance for the world begin within each of them.

ááá As for business, this government requires foreign corporations to agree with these policies. Will they also require this of all WTO members, UN organizations and Millions of Olympic visitors? This is not a moot question. News Corp. and AOL, Time Warner has already had to make such statements. The rest of the Fifth estate can be likewise required. Citizens of America and other countries who express curiosity about this group have been detained and imprisoned.

ááá In a recent conversation with a highly visible member of the House, these questions were posed. The response was, " We can't even think about that right now!" Though this elevates the complexity of the question, terrorism should not be allowed under the cover of "Sovereignty." Recent evil events in America require these facts to be questioned sooner rather than later. Perhaps even, "Right Now." Hong Kong's "South China Morning Post." reports that the regime is structuring a major crackdown. From the past, we know the number of killings of the innocent will rise. Are we a world where only one problem can be considered at a time? I pray not. I think not.á Ask any Mother.

ááá Respectfully, the Nobel committee could consider sending humanity's message by honoring this new song. We can stop the atrocities.
