1. [Nong'an, Jilin Province] Police from the First Section of the Changchun Public Security Bureau Kidnap More Than 50 Dafa Practitioners
Recently the First Section of the Changchun Public Security Bureau entered Nong'an and stationed themselves there. They arrested and kidnapped local Dafa practitioners from a wide area, installed special monitoring equipment and assigned people in the Telecommunication Department to tap Dafa practitioners' phone calls, creating tension and an atmosphere of terror just before the Chinese Spring Festival. The following practitioners have been kidnapped: Cao Yali (female), Ms. Guo, Zhang Dianrong, Gao Feng, Ms. Zhao, etc. One Dafa materials site has been destroyed. A male and a female practitioner were also kidnapped and taken away from nine-year-old practitioner Jiang Ning's home. The police also took away Jiang Ning and her grandma from their home. Jiang Ning has since been released.
In the rural areas, the situation is much worse. Dafa practitioners have been beaten in their own homes. In Nong'an more than 50 practitioners have been kidnapped.
2. [Jilin Province] Police Plan to Begin a Wide Arrest

3. [Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province] Students from Zhanjiang Oceanology University Are Illegally Sentenced Up to Thirteen Years
Practitioner Chen Xiangqian, a resident of Maoming City, was a student at Zhanjiang Oceanology University (He was dismissed by the university because of his belief of Falun Dafa). Chen Xiangqian and He Gengqing were illegally detained for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. They were arrested again in early 2001 for making and distributing Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials. They were sentenced recently: thirteen years for Chen Xiangqian, eleven years for He Gengqing, five years for Ms. Chen. They are currently being detained in Maoming City 1st Detention Center.

4. [Longjing City, Jilin Province] Retired Female Teacher from Longjing 4th Middle School Liang Xiuzhen Has Been Detained for Long Time
Liang Xiuzhen is a 53 years old female teacher has been detained in Longjing Detention Center for half a year.
Liang Xiuzhen is a retired teacher from Longjing City 4th Middle School. On January 3, 2001, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. The Politic and Security Department (PSD) of Longjing Public Security Bureau applied to a higher authority to sentence her for one-year re-education through forced labor. Later PSD sent her to Changchun Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. The labor camp denied her admission because she was found to have high blood pressure during the physical exam. She was returned to the local detention center. After being detained for a period of time, she was released and fined 3,000 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan].
On July 20, 2001, Longjing City Public Security Bureau started a wide range arrest of Dafa practitioners. They arrested all the "important" practitioners on their blacklist. Liang Xiuzhen was also arrested and remains there.
During the detention, somehow, the Politic and Security Department sent Liang Xiuzhen to take a physical exam in Yanbian Hospital. She was found to suffer from high blood pressure. But they did not treat it.
Liang Xiuzhen's current health situation has worsened. She is pale, slow to respond to physical stimuli and appears to suffer from arrested development.

5. [Chongqing] Practitioners Chen Qi, He Haipeng, Xiu Lingfen (female), Li Zongyu are Sentenced Up to Twelve Years
Practitioners Chen Qi, He Haipeng, Xu Lingfen (female) and Li Zongyu were secretly tried in May 2001. In August 2001, the charges were dropped, but they were sued again later. On January 29, 2002, they were secretly sentenced: Chen Qi was sentenced to twelve years without political rights for five years; He Haipeng was sentenced to ten years without political rights for two years; Li Zongyu was sentenced to nine years, Xu Lingfen was sentenced to eight years.
Around January 1, 2002, informant Yi Tenghui and secret agents plotted together and arrested more than 60 practitioners from Chongqing while they were in Xiaoquan.
6. [Xiamen City, Fujian Province] Practitioner Zeng Linhua Has Been Detained and Tortured for a Long Time
Zeng Linhua, female, 36 years old, is a practitioner from Xiamen city. In November 1999, she was sentenced to one year of re-education through forced labor and imprisoned in Fujian Women's Forced Labor Camp in Fuzhou City. The authorities tried to get her to renounce her belief of Falun Dafa by physically abusing and brainwashing her. Seeing that their plot failed, the authorities extended her term. In August 2001, after extending her term for nearly one year, she was transferred to the Xiamen Falun Gong Brainwashing Class. Because she would not give up her belief, she was later detained in the Xiamen Drug Rehab Center and subjected to cruel torture.
7. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioner Shi Yongcheng Is Detained Again
Shi Yongcheng, male, 67 years old, was detained for practicing Falun Dafa. Not long after being released, he was again detained in November 2001. Because he would not give up his belief of Falun Dafa, he remains in detention.

8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Public Security Bureau Uses Defaming Falun Gong Displaying Boards to Arrest Dafa Practitioners
On February 5, 2002, Changchun City Public Security Bureau made three display boards defaming teacher and Dafa. They hung them on the side of a building on Renmin Road near the City Public Security Bureau. They arrested Dafa practitioners by waiting around the area and looking for anyone who came up to tear down the boards. The bureau had ordered all police to wear plainclothes and take three shifts daily to arrest practitioners. All police complained about the order saying they did not want to receive retribution [by doing such thing] around the time of the Spring Festival. The organizers were forced to recruit ten or so male and female students from Changchun City Police School to do the job. Many practitioners kept on sending righteous thoughts and on February 6, 2002, the display boards were taken down.

On January 25, 2002, fourteen practitioners were kidnapped in the Culture Recreation Center of Jilin Province. This arrest was directed by the Public Security Department of Jilin Province, and performed by the Changchun City Public Security Bureau. 9. [Yitong County, Jilin Province] The Detention Center Indefinitely Detains Falun Dafa Practitioners
The Yitong Detention Center illegally extends detention terms of several Falun Dafa practitioners including: Wang Taimin, Li Zhongye, Song Chunling, Wang Dandan, Wei Guoqi, Zhao Fenglan, Sun Shuying, Han Cuilan, Han Chun, and Chen Jingru. Among them, Han Cuilan and Sun Shuying were arrested when they distributed Dafa truth-clarifying materials. Han Chun was arrested when the police ransacked her home. The police arrested Zhao Lan without cause. Chen Jingru was arrested on December 26, 2001 when she visited Zhao Shuqin. The county police station sent Chen Jingru to the detention center for criminals and there she remains even though she has served more than the full term. Chen Jingru was shackled from January 2 to 6, for practicing Falun Gong and going on a hunger strike to protest the illegal persecution against her. Song Chunling was sent to Heizuizi prison in the city of ChangChun forced re-education. Her blood pressure was too high to pass the physical so she was sent back and is being detained in the Yitong Detention Center. It was said that the police would sentence Wang Taimin and Wang Dandan because they had made stern declarations.

On the railway train from Harbin to Siping, policemen performed body searches in attempts to find Falun Dafa truth-clarification materials.
12. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Police Arrest Falun Gong Practitioner Yang Jinfeng and Her Sister, Yang Jinyu
About two weeks ago, several policemen from the first Division of Changchun Municipal Public Security Bureau and Dehui City suddenly broke into practitioner Yang Jinfeng's home, searched and messed it up. They confiscated two copies of Zhuan Falun, some practitioners' cultivation experiences, as well as a small speaker used for selling rice. Then they came to her workplace, forced open her office desk. Not finding any evidence, they arrested her at her workplace. The next day, they illegally arrested her sister Yang Jinyu at her relatives' at Changchun without cause. Family members have not been allowed to visit. No one knows their whereabouts.

On the afternoon of February 6, 2002, during an experience sharing, some practitioner said that he still did not have enough confidence in cultivation. Right at this moment, another practitioner wanted to watch a particular VCD. It was then the miracle happened. There was clearly no VCD in the VCD player, but the images were shown on the TV. This amazed all the practitioners.
Practitioners realized that this was the encouragement from Teacher that practitioners should believe that they have supernormal abilities. It is an important test whether we believe in Teacher and the Fa.
14. [Harbin, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioners Li Zhenhe and Gao Ke Are Arrested at Home
At noon on February 7, 2002, the police from Nangang police substation, Harbin City, arrested practitioner Li Zhen at home. At around 10:00pm, practitioner Gao Ke was arrested by the first Division of Harbin Municipal Public Security Bureau. It was said that more than 20 policemen from the first Division of Harbin Municipal Public Security Bureau broke into Gao Ke's home, beat him up and covered his mouth with their hands to prevent him from uttering a sound. They even threatened his family (also practitioners): "You will also be arrested if you make a sound!" They took Teacher's picture, Dafa books, and 4 VCD players. They are now illegally holding Gao Ke at the Harbin police substation.
15. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Police Arrested Several Falun Dafa Practitioners
On the night of February 3, 2002, people in Jiamusi City escalated the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. Policemen ransacked practitioners' homes. Practitioners Sun Guirong, Zhou Puxiu and Ren Hongxin were arrested at home. Jing Yuhua was arrested while making Dafa truth-clarification materials.

17. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] The Cultural Center at Tiexi District Held a Cartoon Exhibit to Slander Falun Dafa
The Cultural Center at Tiexi District, Shenyang City held a slanderous Cartoon Exhibit, all cartoons were defaming Falun Gong, severely distorting the truth. The exhibit boards were placed at the cross of the Tiexi Square, which brought very negative effects towards Dafa and also blinded and deceived people.

Around 2:00pm on January 18, 2002, a fellow practitioner and I went to some street to post Dafa banners. A person in black found me. He did not see my fellow practitioner, sending forth righteous thoughts off to one side. But I was held back. The man in black said: "Tell me why you are posting those banners?" I said: "I'm almost 60 years old. Why do I do this Fa-rectification work in risk of my life? My teacher asks me to come to save you." The man said: "What should I do?" I said: "Release me, then you will be saved, please leave yourself this opportunity to be saved." The man would not listen to me. He opened his cell phone in an attempt to arrest me. I thought that I should not cooperate and I have to stop him, stop him making the phone call. At the same time, I sent forth righteous thoughts: Teacher, please strengthen your disciple's gong, freeze this person. He became motionless. I walked away without any difficulty. Later, he left crestfallen. About 10 minutes later, my fellow practitioner also came back safely. She had posted all the Dafa banners left on telegraph poles. She said: "I really experienced the power of a Dafa disciple's righteous thoughts. None of our Dafa banners were removed."
