What has caused the mysterious deformation of frogs in North America?

-Mysteriously, deformed frogs have recently been found in 43 states in the U.S. and 5 provinces in Canada. Some of them have missing legs while some have as many as six legs. This unusual phenomenon has been a cause of great concern among local residents. Although American scientists blamed environmental pollution and parasite infection, some people have been thinking along different lines.

-In May, two days before Jiang arrived, every train station in Germany put up billboard and poster ads showing three toads. The caption across the top read "Look up." Two toads were standing on each side, their half-turned heads looking upwards. A white-bellied, big toad appears in the middle, with a crown on his head. The bottom caption read, "The big one is coming." The subject and timing easily established an association in some people's minds.

-During his trip to Iran, Jiang had serious "health problems." At the time, readers of PeopleNet (the online version of Chinese People's Daily) were forced to watch a little toad jumping out on their screen every few seconds. The only way to get rid of it was to close the website's window. It turned out to be an advertisement by the Great Wall Computer Company. However, PeopleNet is a government-run website instead of a commercial one counting on advertising income!

-During Jiang's attendance of the Hong Kong 5^th handover anniversary ceremony, around 10:00 a.m. on July 1, 2002, a big procession of shrimp and crab suddenly appeared on the street across from the Jinsha Restaurant in Yuzhong District. Many passersby were shocked to see the odd scene. The road was covered with shrimp and crab moving along the street as if nothing else were present. The whole "procession" spread out over a kilometer (0.6 mile) in length. Drivers passing by were astonished to see the strange scene and could not stop their cars, running over the shrimp and crab yielding rather frightening sounds. Passersby stopped to view the scene and talked amongst themselves trying to guess the origin of the strange visitors.

-During Jiang's visit to Germany, on the morning of May 12, 2002, a weird thing happened in Tianchang City, Anhui Province. Tens of thousands of small toads suddenly gathered around the house of a resident. The small toads had rough skin and were dark brown in color. They were about an inch in length. They were thickly clumped together and crawled slowly along. The scene was very similar to a procession of ants.
