According to a Central News Agency special report on July 9, the Chinese government cut off BBC broadcasting in China effective July 1. Voice of America: The international organization that protects the freedom of broadcasting, the "Committee to Protect Journalists," published a letter to Jiang on Tuesday, protesting the suspension of BBC broadcasting in China, which is the newest evidence in the Chinese government's series of actions to limit foreign journalists. AFP and other overseas Chinese media also reported on this, protesting Jiang and his regime's limit on the BBC.

News from China

In early 2001, female Dafa practitioner Kuang Su'e in Qidong County, Hunan Province went to distribute truth clarification flyers and post Fa-promotion banners in the town in Qidong County. Two days later, her family saw the news of her death shown on T.V, and when they asked the related government agencies about the detailed information, they were only told that Kuang Su'e was hit by a car. When her family asked for details, they were cursed and threatened by the government official.

My mother was arrested and sent to a detention center because she practices Falun Gong. My brother, my grandmother and I went to the police department to ask about my mother, but we were beaten by the police officers. The lawless officials showed us a secret document from the province police bureau, which states the following, "People who distribute more than 30 flyers can be sentenced to forced labor; if more than three people gather and do exercises, they can be sentenced to forced labor." Has the province police bureau's secret document become law?

During the past three years that Falun Dafa has been persecuted by the evil, the heavens and the people have become angry. There was no rain in Jiangsu Province and the areas along Huai River [Jiangsu Province, Shanghai, Zhejiang Province] during this rain season. The year 2000 had a very rare short rainy season, and in 2001, many areas had rare dry seasons, which caused extensive drought that hasn't happened in decades. This year, there were only a few rainstorms in some areas of Jiangsu Province and Huai River.

Practitioners Exchange Insights

What we have learned through studying Teacher's article, "What Are Supernormal Abilities." We are cultivating in the Fa-rectification period. Our minds must be righteous, our main consciousness must be dominant, and we should truly dissolve ourselves into the Fa. Always keep what Teacher has taught in our hearts, especially remembering Teacher's original words, which carry boundless mighty power. If we maintain righteous thoughts at every single moment, in all places and doing all things, then we will be able to use it at will and our righteous thoughts can be truly strong and powerful.

News and Activities around the World

Falun Dafa Information Center -- On July 9, New York Falun Dafa Association wrote to Hong Kong SAR (Special Administration Region) government regarding more than 100 Falun Gong practitioners whose names appeared on a blacklist and thus were barred from entering the territory. The letter condemned this unjustifiable action and called on the SAR government to uphold justice. The letter said: At the Immigration entrance, about ten young men and women used force to tie Ms. Dan Bihan, a 68-year-old Falun Gong practitioner and violently put her into a canvas bag and carried her onto the plane to depart from Hong Kong.

On the morning of July 8, Ms. Dai Zhizhen, a Falun Gong practitioner and her two-year-old daughter were interviewed by Italian National TV Station Channel One. She talked about the persecution her entire family has suffered because they practice Falun Gong. The president of the Hands Off Cain Human Right Organization was also present. During the 10-minute TV program, many photos displaying practitioners beaten by police were alternatively shown.

Clarifying the Truth in Front of the Chinese Consulates

For a long time now, Falun Dafa practitioners have been clarifying truth in front of the Chinese Consulate in Canberra, Australia. One day, many Chinese tourists who seemed to be government officials came to visit the Consulate. Upon seeing this, a practitioner immediately went up to them and clarified the truth of Falun Dafa. After listening, one of the tourists held the practitioner's hand in both of their hands, saying, "Thanks, thank you." That same day, the truth-clarifying poster made by practitioners was stolen. When a policeman was told of this, he said, "Isn't it obvious who would be interested in stealing it?" On that chilly, windy day, three policemen came up, shook hands with us and asked if we needed any help.

Apple Daily: On July 1, there was a flag raising ceremony in Hong Kong. Many people went to central square to watch the ceremony. However, due to heightened security [from Jiang's visit], nobody except invited guests was allowed to enter the square. He Zhiping, head of Hong Kong Civil Affairs Bureau, was in charge of the ceremony. When told that the common citizens complained about the government's blocking the square off, he seemed indifferent, saying, "What opinions will they have? I am unaware of their complaints." That same night, those Hong Kong citizens still went to the beach to enjoy the fireworks display. However, instead of displaying "2002" as originally designed, the fireworks exploded in the sky to form the letters "SOS," a symbol widely used by Falun Dafa practitioners to call for urgent rescue of practitioners being persecuted in China.
