[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Gross Abuse of Practitioners in Wuhan City's Female Prison

Wuhan City's Female Prison used the "sandwiching" method, where two or more people work with one practitioner to isolate him or her, prevent him from talking with others and to forcibly brainwash Dafa practitioners. Three to six prisoners took turns to tightly monitor one Dafa practitioner around the clock. These criminal inmates used all kinds of inhumane methods to torture determined Dafa practitioners, such as forbidding practitioners to sleep, forcing practitioners to stand still for a long period of time, cuffing their hands behind the backs, locking them up in a solitary confinement cell, exposure to the hot sun, mistreating them with tortures they themselves had thought up, hanging practitioners up with only the tips of their toes touching the ground, slapping their mouths and insulting them. Now these brutal tortures are continuing. Ms. Peng Yan and other Dafa practitioners are still being tortured.

[Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province] Police Relentlessly Arrest Dafa Practitioners

After policemen from Yingtan City arrested Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhao Xiying on July 20, 2002, they again launched a large-scale raid to capture Dafa practitioners. Over ten Dafa practitioners were illegally detained and several Dafa practitioners' houses were illegally searched. Some Dafa practitioners were forced to leave home to avoid being illegally arrested. The illegally detained Dafa practitioners suffered inhuman tortures. For over ten days, they were brutally beaten while both hands were cuffed. They were hung up with only the tips of their toes touching the ground, and were forbidden to sleep.

Zhaoyuan County's police authorities in Heilongjiang Province always extended the detention terms of Dafa practitioners. Recently police took all relatives of those detained practitioners to the detention center and forced the relatives to persuade practitioners to write repentance statements. Meanwhile, policemen also forced the relatives to write guarantee statements.
