Ms. Chen Yanying, Falun Dafa Practitioner from Ningjin County, Hebei Province Tortured to Death by the Gaoyang Forced Labor Re-education Camp

Sept. 15, 2002

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Chen Yanying was a Falun Dafa practitioner from Ningjin County, Hebei Province. After suffering brutal torture in the Gaoyang Forced Labor Re-education Camp in Hebei Province for one year, her health was in critical condition. To avoid responsibility for her death, the labor camp sent her home. Ms. Chen Yanying passed away 4 hours after arriving home. Ms. Chen had been wrongfully imprisoned several times before she was sent to the labor camp.

Ms. Chen Yanying, 35, was from Sizhilan Village, Ningjin County, Hebei Province. She obtained the Fa in 1997 and was very healthy. On July 20, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, but was illegally arrested and detained. On October 1, 1999, she went to Beijing to validate Dafa, but was unlawfully imprisoned in the Ningjin County Detention Center for over 6 months. After going on a hunger strike for 8 days, she was released. On October 1, 2000, she was abducted while handing out Dafa truth-clarifying materials. She was detained at the Ningjin County Detention Center for over 2 months. After 9 days of being on a hunger strike to protest the illegal imprisonment, she was set free.

Fearing that she would go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong again, the 610 Office abducted her from her home during the Chinese Lunar New Year of 2001 and illegally held her in the Ningjin County Detention Center for a month. Then they transferred her to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Re-education Camp in Hebei Province.

In the labor camp, Ms. Chen suffered various cruel tortures, but she firmly believed in Dafa and was not moved at all by any persecution. Enduring all kinds of tortures, she persisted in protesting the persecution through hunger striking. After her prolonged ordeal, Ms. Chen was not able to stand or to walk without assistance. After suffering more than one year of persecution, her health became extremely fragile. The police officers at the labor camp were afraid of bearing any responsibility for her condition and wanted to shift responsibility, so they hastily notified her family to take her home. Four hours after arriving at home, she passed away.
