Twelve Falun Gong Practitioners Living in Exile Are Kidnapped in Lhasa, Tibet

Sept. 28, 2002 |   By a practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net)

A few days ago, twelve Falun Gong practitioners, including a 9-year-old and a 12-year-old, were illegally detained in Lhasa, Tibet. These practitioners are currently on a hunger-strike as a protest against the arrest.

These twelve practitioners came from different regions of China, including Guangdong (Canton) and other Northeastern provinces. Being forced into exile by Jiang's regime, they had been destitute and homeless for a long time. Among them were two families of three, each with one child. These children could not attend school because of the requirement to give up their belief in order to go to school. The father from one of the families could not go to work since two hundred people from his workplace had been dispatched to arrest him. These people went to various bus and train stations, and to all his relatives' homes to catch him. The family had no choice but to leave home and move from one place to another. The other family of three had sold their house and went into forced exile in fear of illegal arrest by the police. They had long depleted all of their savings and could not support themselves anymore. Because of the persecution from Jiang's gang of scoundrels, Falun Gong practitioners have been forced to leave their homes, have had no place to go or no one to go to, and have been unable to settle anywhere. Yet, they only wish to be good people, to be healthy, to purify their hearts, and improve their morality.

It is estimated that these twelve practitioners have been on their hunger-strike for about ten days now. As the strike continues, the suffering will be more severe, and the process of force-feeding will become more brutal. We offer this plea to all righteous people in the world: please lend a precious helping hand to do all you can, through all methods and channels, to stop the brutal persecution and inhuman treatment of Falun Gong practitioners by the police in China, and to help rescue the twelve kidnapped practitioners as soon as possible.
