Taiwan: Falun Gong Practitioners Hold Petition Drive to Rescue Lin Hsiao-kai (Photos)

Oct. 28, 2003

(Clearwisdom.net, October 27, 2003) To call for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong, and to request the Chinese government to immediately release Taiwanese Falun Gong practitioner Lin Hsiao-kai who is unlawfully imprisoned, practitioners throughout Taiwan held signature collection activities and received warm support from the public.

Falun Gong practitioners expressed, "This signature collection activity is being held simultaneously throughout Taiwan. We hope that through this activity, we can further expose the brutality and allow the Taiwanese people to understand the real situation about the Chinese authorities' persecution of Falun Gong. We also request the Chinese government to immediately release the Taiwanese Falun Gong practitioner."

It was a holiday, and crowds of people strolled around on the streets. Falun Gong practitioners held petitions and posters in their hands, distributed truth-clarifying flyers and explained the significance of the signature collection. Many people had already heard about the incident of Mr. Lin's detention, and they were very supportive. Some people immediately came over to sign the petition once they found it was for Falun Gong. They expressed their discontent towards the Chinese government's persecution. Many elementary school students also signed the petition. A little girl said sincerely to a practitioner, "I hope he (Lin Hsiao-kai) will be back as soon as possible."
