(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Cao Jiguang is a thirty-five year old practitioner who used to work in a cotton rope company in Linshui County, Sichuan Province. Once, someone reported that Mr. Cao was a practitioner the police in Chongqing City arrested him. The police there forced him to say where he got his flyers from and if he knew of the whereabouts of any other practitioners, etc. Since Mr. Cao Jiguang refused to answer all of these questions, the police beat and kicked him. They also used steel wires to tie him up and beat him for three days.
Mr. Cao questioned the police by saying, "We practice Falun Gong according to the standards of 'Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance'. There is nothing wrong with wanting to become a good person. Why do you brutally persecute me and want to put me to death?" The police said, "This is Jiang Zemin's order and our beating you to death will be treated as if you committed suicide." Three days later, the police used a cotton bag to cover his head and upper body while they sent him to the Liziba Detention Center in Chongqing City. There, Mr. Cao appealed by going on a hunger strike for twenty-one days. During his several months in the detention, the police continued to interrogate him and severely beat him. In February 2002, Cao Jiguang was sent to the Linshui County Detention Center in Sichuan Province.
Cao Jiguang was detained in the Linshui County Detention Center for about half a year. During that time, people from the "610 Office" interrogated him and beat him up. Since Cao always fainted due to the severe beatings, they used cold water to wake him up while they continued to beat him.
On May 8, 2002 Mr. Cao refused to say, "report out," so he was brutally beaten by the captain of the detention center. The police then used an electric baton to strike his body. When they were exhausted, they called the other police to continue beating him. Afterwards, the police tied his hands and legs to a "death bed"*. Mr. Cao went on a hunger strike for four days until the police were afraid that he was going to die on the "death bed" and that they could not escaped that responsibility. Mr. Cao was, therefore, released from the "death bed" on the fifth day. On May 28, 2002, he once again did not say "report out," so he was brutally beaten up by a group of police that included the captain of the detention center. Again, they tied him to the "death bed" where he suffered a similar torture. On July 17, 2002 Mr. Cao and several other practitioners were illegally sentenced. Mr. Cao was sentenced to five years in the Deyang jail in Sichuan Province.
Mr. Cao was detained in Deyang Jail for nine months, most of which was spent in a solitary compartment. The police used criminals to persecute him twenty-four hours non-stop and they forced him to go through brainwashing classes and attempted to get him write a "transformation letter." Since Mr. Cao was determined to steadfastly continue to practice his belief, any movements such as going to the restroom, vomiting, or scratching his back would all result in brutal beatings. Mr. Cao often fainted due to the brutal beatings. When he went on a hunger strike, the police would force-feed him and the doctor inside the jail would cooperate with the police and put the plastic tubes repeatedly in and out into his mouth to torture him. The police also used a mouth-opening instrument to do the force-feeding. They put the mouth-opening instrument into Mr. Cao's mouth to force him and to open his mouth to the maximum extent; however, this caused severe injuries inside his mouth. Later on, the police used a "hunger treatment" on him. They reduced half of his food, which caused his body weight to decrease day by day and caused him to faint all the time.
On May 23, 2003, Mr. Cao was secretly sent to the Guangyuan Jail in the Sichuan Province. Starting on the first day he arrived, he was detained in a small cell where four or five criminal would watch him and persecute him. Currently, his life is in danger. However, he is still determined to believe in Dafa, and to resist the persecution through means of hunger strike.
*A torture where the four limbs of the practitioner are stretched out and tied to the four corners of an icy-cold metal bed. The practitioner cannot move at all. Neither is he allowed to get up to eat, drink, or go to the bathroom. This treatment would last from several hours up to more than a dozen days. This type of cruel torture causes severe damage to the practitioner both mentally and physically.
