The Righteous Mind and Righteous Conduct of a Fa-Rectification Disciple in China

Over the past two years, a practitioner in our county has put up five to six hundred Dafa banners. He always hangs them in the busiest districts of town. He has also distributed Dafa materials at city offices, police stations, and police cars. The following are his narratives:

I am 53 years old, and I learned Falun Dafa on November 8, 1997. In May of 1998 a newspaper published an article attacking Dafa. I realized that it was a test for practitioners and I had only one thought: "I am determined to cultivate Dafa all the way to the end. If Dafa needs me, I will devote myself with no hesitation or concerns whatsoever." I have given myself to Dafa since that time and I feel that anything I do for Dafa is my obligation. There is no room for me to ask for anything; all I can do is to give. When we first began clarifying the truth amidst the persecution, I would always think of ways to hang banners at the most prominent places so that more people could see and benefit from them.

An overpass on Highway 102 is just such a prominent place; all traffic heading south into central China must pass by. Thousands of cars pass by everyday. The height of the overpass is about 23 feet. I often tie two banners into one and hang them from the overpass. Banners such as "Falun Dafa Is Good" and "Falun Dafa Is A Righteous Fa" can fly on the overpass for a whole day before someone removes them.

There is a busy night market in front of a downtown department store building. Every night close to a thousand people visit the market. To save more sentient beings I often tie banners with "Falun Dafa Is Good" and "Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truth-Compassion-Tolerance)" together and hang them on the third floor outside the department store building.

On the night before "World Dafa Day," I went to the front gate of the light industrial market. I used the flagpole mechanism to raise a banner displaying the message: "Celebrating World Falun Dafa Day." The banner with its red letters and yellow background, along with the colorful flags next to it, flew in the air. To make it more distinct I attached the banner to a flagpole along with a red flag. The banner stayed there among the colorful flags for more than a half month. Late one night I went to the front gate of the light industry market again to hang banners and saw a young couple lingering there. I thought, "You should leave right now. Do not interfere with my helping to rectify the Fa." When I walked up, they left. I tied two banners showing "Restore the Reputation of my Master" and "Restore the Reputation of Falun Dafa" together into a long one and hung it up. The bright colored banners flew brilliantly in the air.

Downtown streets in the summer time are extremely busy, with all the store lights and bustling people. I thought that they were wonderful places for me to help rectify the Fa, and I wanted to convert them into streets of Fa-rectification. One night, I went out twice, each time carrying thirty banners. The streets were continually filled with pedestrian traffic. With strong righteous thoughts in my mind, I had no fear. I hung my sixty banners up and displayed a banner on every corner of the busy streets. Another time after hanging banners, I passed by a police station where a large crowd gathered around some people who were arguing. With a few posters in my pocket, I walked into the police station. I hung three posters on the hallway and the wall of the reception room. Another time, I went to the farmer's market to buy things during a swap meet, when people from all over the county were in town trading. When I passed by the gate, amidst the crowd I saw a police car sitting outside. I walked up, and finding it empty, I left a flyer on the front seat through the open window.

May 13, 2001 was the ninth anniversary of Master's public teaching of Dafa. That night I spent the entire night hanging banners and writing Fa-rectifying messages. I went out three times. The first time, my wife (also a practitioner) and I hung ten banners. The second time I went alone and hung 17 banners. The third time I brought some crayons and went to the County Hall, in front of which were many raised flower beds with sloped concrete walls; ideal for message writing. I wrote with bright red color in ten places, "Heaven and Earth All Celebrate the Ninth Anniversary of Falun Gong's Spreading." (Note: With all normal forms of appeal denied to them, practitioners in China have been forced to resort to unconventional means to clarify the truth.)

On September 30, 2001, I came home late after selling my vegetables, and did not have dinner until 9 pm. After a short nap and waking up at 10 pm, it occurred to me that the next day was National Day, and we should let people in the county see the banners and learn about Dafa. I got up and began sewing banners. It was quite difficult for me, with my clumsy hands, and took me quite a while to finish just one banner. Then my wife woke up too and she helped me. It was 12:30 am when we finished 15 banners. I hung the longest banner, "Stop Persecuting Falun Gong" on the fourth floor outside the theater. It was 2:30 in the morning when I finished hanging all the banners and returned home. At 4 am I went out again to buy vegetables at the wholesale market and resell them during the day. In spite of all the activities and lack of sleep, I did not feel tired.

During my Fa-rectification I have experienced many amazing things. Each time I went out, no matter during the day or during the evenings, things always went quite smoothly, and I never faced any danger. What I relied upon was using the Fa as my guide, always thinking and acting righteously. I have many shortcomings, but I am determined to redouble my efforts to complete my honorable mission in assisting Master with Fa-rectification.
