Break through the evil arrangements and validate Dafa: The relationship between steadfastness and breaking through the evil arrangements. In other dimensions I saw: For a practitioner who remains steadfast in the human realm, the very center of his cosmos is sparkling and crystal-clear and firmly rooted in Dafa just like still water. It encompassed by the force of Fa-rectification and spins. The spinning power is closely associated with his steadfastness in Dafa. The power is extremely dense just like still water.... Inherently everything is strongly strengthened by the Fa because of his firmness in the Fa and all he has including his steadfastness is substantiated. This truly enables him to suffocate any evil. All illicit thoughts will automatically disintegrate in front of him and all evil is terrified in front of him. All of these rely on his steadfastness in the Fa. The firmness in the Fa and breaking through the evil arrangements are associated with each other.

Two years and three months of suffering did not move my steadfast faith in Dafa: In October 1999, the director of our local police station forcibly sent me to the brainwashing center held by the county government. Three fellow practitioners and I refused to write a "guarantee letter" [A statement to declare that he or she is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners] and for this, we were escorted to country fairs and neighboring villages and were paraded through the streets. Then we were each sentenced to two-year terms of forced labor. During that period of time, I suffered inhuman persecution. The vicious police officers once used seven electric batons to shock me simultaneously. They force-fed me, pulled out one of my teeth, and dislocated my jaw. They even force-fed me with a lot of beer. [Note: practitioners do not smoke or drink alcohol.] After two years and three months of suffering, under Teacher's merciful protection, I finally left the den of the monster.

Dafa practitioner uses righteous thoughts to break away from the persecution. When an elderly practitioner and a fellow practitioner distributed Dafa truth-clarifying materials, they were abducted by police officers and taken to a police station. The police then sent them to a detention center. This elderly practitioner thought, I must not remain in this detention center since my mission is to save sentient beings. As a result, after the physical examination, the detention center refused to keep her. But the vicious police officers insisted that the detention center hold her. The practitioner said to the police, "How would you benefit if I passed away in the detention center? Do you still have a conscience?" The police then asked her to pay for the examination fee. She said, "It is you who demanded I take the examination. I did not want the examination. I don't have any money!" Affected by Dafa practitioner's righteous thoughts, the police officers changed their attitude greatly and set her free shortly after.

Police officers in Wucheng County, Shandong Province and the local "610 Office" [a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches] furiously search for and hunt down Dafa practitioners who were forced to leave home and became destitute in order to avoid being arrested. They involved practitioners' family members and their workplaces. The workplaces are forced to pay for all the fees for wrongful seizure and high fines. They also arrested practitioners' relatives (who do not practice Falun Gong) and held them in the detention center up to two weeks trying to extort confessions from them through beatings and torture. They also charged them several thousand Yuan [the monthly salary of an average urban worker is about 500 Yuan] in fines. They illegally tapped private phone calls of practitioners' relatives. These were tactics to harass practitioners' relatives and workplaces into searching for practitioners who had left home, while the police officers tagged after and then entrapped practitioners. Another illegal mass arrest for Dafa practitioners is scheduled soon.

On January 27, the Luyuan police sub-station unlawfully arrested Changchun practitioners Wu Hua, Wu Huan and Wei Qingfu. On February 1^st a few Dafa practitioners were arrested On February 2, a Dafa material site near Chaoyang Bridge in Changchun City was ransacked. Practitioner Ma Fusheng and a female fellow practitioner were abducted and detained in the Chaoyang Police Sub-station. On February 28, police officers broke into practitioner Liu Shuqin's home and arrested a number of practitioners. On March 4, 2003, a Changchun Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Yuxiang was illegally abducted by police officers from the Yangjiaweizi Police Station

Gangsters from the 610 Office in Lanshan District, Linxi City, Shandong Province hired hatchet men to beat and insult Dafa practitioners. The practitioners were forced to bark like a dog and to climb like an animal. More physical abuse was heaped on practitioners including: sleep deprivation, burning practitioners' hands with fire, sticking pushpins through their palms, used handcuffs to hang them on a beam, and used straps to lash them. The hired roughnecks even let a viper into the cage to bite practitioners and put scorpions on practitioners' hands to sting them. They forced practitioners to sit on the ground full of scorpions.... The gangsters also used a knife to chop at practitioner Zhao Fuxin's head a few times. His head was covered in blood and he had to be sent to a hospital to have his wounds sewn up.

In 2000, Wei Hongwei, a practitioner from Harbin City went to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Gong. After being arrested, he suffered various kinds of torture. On February 12, 2001, he was sent to the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City. Due to the long period of torture, he was covered with scabies and his health continuously deteriorated. The labor camp feared responsibility for his life and set him free on August 24. After he was released he continued to receive threats so he left home and became destitute to avoid persecution. Before Wei Hongwei's father, Wei Shujiang obtained Falun Dafa, he was a very ill man. The doctors said there was no cure, he would die. It was Dafa that gave him a new life. Unfortunately, on August 29, 2001, he was tortured to death in the detention center of the Daoli district public security sub-bureau in Harbin City.
