• My experience of going to Tiananmen Square to validate Dafa. In 2000 I went to Tiananmen Square with fellow practitioners to unfurl a banner and appeal for Falun Dafa. For this we were arrested. The police officers locked me in the detention center. I refused to cooperate with any of their demands. The police officers then shackled me with iron chains that weighed 20 kg (44 lb) and forcibly dragged me along the ground. As a result, my body was covered with bleeding wounds and the skin was scraped from my knees. The bones in my feet were deformed because the shackles had been locked so tightly. The police officers violently trampled on my chest with their boots. They also used their elbows to hit me in such vital areas as my lower back, both sides of the chest, and on my temples. They forcibly bashed my head into the wall and as a consequence, a swollen bump appeared on the back of my head that was an inch thick. If pressed with a finger, the skin would stay dented, indicating that a lot of fluid had collected there.

• In 2002, our Dafa material-making site was destroyed by the police, and I was arrested. I kept firmly in mind Master's words: "If a cultivator can let go of the thought of life and death under any circumstance, evil is sure to be afraid of him." (Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s), Essentials for Further Advancement II). As a result, the vicious police authorities were not able to make me give up my beliefs. Although I was sentenced to three years in prison, I was released for medical treatment soon afterwards.

Members of the committee to rescue Yoko Kaneko and Mr. Lin Shenli (a practitioner from Canada who joined the rescue effort) visited related government officials of each county and held press conferences. Major media from each place attended the press conferences and showed great interest in the case. The effect was quite good. While explaining the facts of the persecution and appealing for help to rescue Yoko, whenever we talked at too high a level, we caused some misunderstandings. Only righteous thoughts bring about righteous actions. This activity was not an ordinary rescue event, but also an opportunity for the practitioners to examine their understandings of Dafa and their cultivation status. Only when one studies the Fa well, and has a deeper understanding of Dafa, would he be able to rationally, wisely and compassionately clarify the truth during the rescue activities. Only when one is always dissolved into the Fa, can he achieve the expected effect.

I'm now 57 years old. Before I obtained Dafa, I suffered from various kinds of illnesses. One week after I studied the Fa and practiced Falun Gong exercises, all my illnesses disappeared. Everyone in my family was very happy for me. Without spending a single penny, I became a healthy person. I truly felt gratitude to Master Li Hongzhi deep in my heart. In October 2001, I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. I was arrested on my way there. No matter how I was interrogated, I resolutely refused to cooperate with the police. In the end, I was unconditionally released. Near the end of 2001, the police officers once again illegally detained me for 18 days. During one interrogation, they did not allow me to sleep for three consecutive days. I was not moved at all. After I returned home, I explained my plight to others and most of them learned the truth: Dafa is so good, but Falun Gong practitioners are suffering because of the persecution.

Before I obtained Falun Dafa, I had lost my job and felt that there was no future for me. I was disheartened. In February 1997, I obtained Dafa and saw the hope of life. Around the end of 1999 and the beginning of 2000, my fellow practitioners visited me and told me that Dafa disciples should step forward to validate Dafa. Because of my attachment of fear, my family environment was quite tense. Through studying the Fa and exchanging understandings with fellow practitioners, I tried to judge everything I do in accordance with the Fa, always look inside myself, and use my compassionate heart to treat my family members and other people. This way, my family environment has changed. When my mind was pure and righteous, I could really understand and experience the meaning of each sentence in Teacher's lectures. That was a wonderful and sacred feeling.

On the evening of March 19, 2003, the Falun Gong Research Association from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology joined the activities sponsored by the "Joint Exhibition of Dynamic Associations." Practitioners introduced Falun Dafa and explained the persecution facts through singing songs, which gained warm applause from the audience. During the intervals between performances, the moderator introduced Falun Dafa and explained the facts of the persecution to the audience.
