Haidian District Court of Beijing City Illegally Sentences Eight Falun Dafa Practitioners Severe Jail Terms

On March 27 of 2003, Haidian District Court of Beijing City illegally sentenced Tan Shouli, Xu Xueqin (female), Kou Guihuan (female), He Xinping, Zhou Zi (female), Liang Zhansheng, Wang Pu, Xu Jing (female) to jail terms ranging between 3.5 and 10 years.

Some of these practitioners had already been illegally detained for one year and others even for more than a year. Cruel prison guards tortured the practitioners during their detention both mentally and physically, using all means to force them to give up their belief. Yet, all the evil methods they tried were in vain before the righteous thoughts of Dafa practitioners..

According to internal reports, initially the authorities had planned to handle those cases in a "low key" manner, although later this turned into severe jail terms.

She was illegally detained because she appealed to the Government in Beijing in September of 2001; and then on September 15, she was forced to wait for "trial". In October 2001, she was forced to become homeless to avoid arrest. On February 26, 2002, was illegally arrested. On March 27, 2003, the Haidian District Court sentenced her to 7.5 years in prison.

Zhou Zi, female, 25 years old, teacher at the Beijing Technical School of Instruments.

In January 2000, she was forced to resign from her job because she practices Falun Gong.

In July 2000, she was detained for one month because she practiced Falun Gong exercises outdoors.

In January 2001, she was arrested on Tiananmen Square where she went to appeal to the Government and got detained illegally for half a month.

In May 2001 she was forced to become homeless to avoid arrest and further persecution.

On March 27, 2003, she was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison by Haidian District Court.
