In an attempt to make firmly determined Falun Dafa practitioners abandon their belief in Falun Dafa [following the principle of Truth, Compassion, Tolerance in one's daily life], the authorities of the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp transferred four male collaborators [former Falun Gong practitioners who have lost rationality due to brainwashing and helped in persecuting other Dafa practitioners] to specially assist the prison guards there. Resolute Falun Dafa practitioners endured the following acts of torture:
The prison guards told the collaborators, "No matter what crimes are committed against determined Dafa practitioners, it is all acceptable. If they die due to the torture, you can say it was because they were born with a lot of karma [Note: this is a distortion of spiritual principles in order to coerce collaborators to assist in the persecution and absolve them of responsibility]." They exhausted all the most brutal and cruel methods of torture on those Dafa practitioners who would not renounce their belief. Guards simultaneously tried to brainwash practitioners while physically torturing them. During brainwashing attempt, Dafa practitioners were not permitted to close their eyes. After those Dafa practitioners were subjected to brainwashing sessions, they were required to slander Teacher Li and Dafa, and then in turn brainwash other practitioners. Only after performing these things would the guards be satisfied that they had fully renounced their belief in Dafa.
The first floor of Masanjia Forced Labor Camp is a vicious place where Dafa practitioners are persecuted. If practitioners say, "Falun Dafa is good," they are forced to squat in a small cell, and their jail terms are extended one-month for each "infraction." In the small cells, the practitioners are forced to wear hand cuffs, shackles, bound to metal chairs, and prohibited from moving for up to 24 hours at a time. The practitioners are given only two meals a day (the meals are not very nutritious and only consist of pickled vegetables and a steamed cornmeal bun made of only corn flour and water). Every day, before meals, the Falun Dafa practitioners in Masanjia Labor Camp walk slowly and painfully through the courtyard displaying the results of the torture they have received.
Zhang Yurong, female, was a medical doctor at Kongling Hospital in Benxi City before being illegally detained. Because a prison guard confiscated one of Teacher Li's articles from her, Dong Shuxia, No. 3 team branch leader, punched her face repeatedly. Thereafter, she was cuffed and shocked with electric batons for a whole day. She also suffered through squatting punishment for three days, and was not allowed to eat anything.
In December 2002, Anshan Dafa practitioner, Wu Feng was shocked with electric batons by Qiu Ping, head of No. 3 team; No. 3 branch leader, Dong Shuxia; and collaborator Peng Lina. following the brutal torture Ms. Wu lost her ability to control her bladder. She suffered great pain mentally and physically.
Lin Ping from Zhuanghe city, was cured of hypertension, high blood pressure and heart disease through practicing Falun Dafa. After she had complied with guards demands to quit practicing Falun Gong, all her illnesses recurred. She realized her actions were not right so she declared her actions null and void. As a result, she was heavily tortured. Until the beginning of April, she was taken from her cell in the early morning, and returned to the bedroom after midnight. The details of the persecution she is suffering are unknown.
Long Shufen from Shenyang, is small in stature. She was hung on the air-conditioner pipe with handcuffs so that just the tips of her toes were touching the ground. Moreover, after she was hung up, collaborator Yu Xiaoqing from Pangjing forced her to insult Teacher Li. Long Shufen fell unconscious after being tortured.
On November 2, 2001, Wang Feng from Jinzhou was abducted by police and detained in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Until 2003, the prison police prohibited her family from visiting her. In the morning of December 18, 2002, four people including the team No. 3 leader of Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, Dong Shuxia; collaborators Wang Tiehong, Wang Fengli, and a unknown collaborator carried Wang Feng out of her cell. The three collaborators tied up Wang Feng's legs to force her to sit in the double lotus position (meditation position where both legs crossed on top of each other) after enduring forced standing her legs were already swollen and painful. Dong Shuxia tied up Wang Feng's hand behind her back for a unknown length of time. Under the extreme physical suffering, Wang Feng was forced to write a guarantee statement renouncing her belief in Falun Dafa. After being tortured, she was unable to walk. She was carried by two people to her cellbed. Her left wrist was black, and dripped abcess fluid. Her left leg and left hand had lost all mobility. Her meals were carried to her by others. She couldn't even bend her lower back. Afterwards, Wang Feng wrote an account of the tortured she was subjected to and gave it to team leader Feng Yehhong. Wang Feng also declared that she had only agreed to give up Falun Gong because she was tortured so severely, she said her omission was not from her heart and that she would not renounce her belief in Dafa.
Following her declaration, she was again subjected to brutal persecution from the guards. The details of the torture she suffered are incomplete. Ms. Wang was taken from the cell at 5:00 a.m. and came back to cell after midnight. Much like Lin Ping, during that time Ms. Wang was prohibited to talk with others, eat, and sleep. By April 3, she had been enduring persecution for half a month. At present, her situation remains unclear.
