In March 2000, Wang Xiaodong went on a hunger strike for 11 days to protest the illegal persecution. On Sept. 10, 2000, his term had expired. Because of Jiang Zemin's policy, "Don't release Falun Gong practitioners if they aren't 'reformed'," police concocted reasons and added two extra months to his term.

Wang Zhanshan and Ji Xiaodong were beaten many times by the Direct Monitoring Team because they practiced the exercises. Each night two criminals took turns monitoring them. Criminal Cao Dahu often beat and cursed practitioners. Sometimes he beat the practitioners with shoes; and at times he became so exhausted from conducting beatings that he could not catch his breath.

Another practitioner from Onnuiteqi is very weak and in danger. He wasn't transferred to Tumujie Labor Camp, as were some other prisoners. Instead, the persecutors extorted over 10,000 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan] from him. He was not released until the Spring Festival.

Criminals who take part in persecuting practitioners are rewarded with reductions to their sentences.

On Sept. 16, 2000, the office director and the head of the Living Department from the Labor and Education Bureau of Inner Mongolia came to Chifeng Labor Camp. With the labor camp's Jiang Haichao, the vice supervisor, Lian Wenming, deputy director of the education department, and a jail doctor, they secretly kidnapped 7 practitioners to the Tumujie Labor Camp.

Responsible people are Jiang Haichao, the vice supervisor and Director Nie of the Direct Monitoring Team.
