Aug. 31, 2003 |   By the Hiroshima Yoko Kaneko Rescue Committee

(Clearwisdom.net) August 26th report: On August 7, 2003, the car tour to rescue Yoko Kaneko set out. Four to five days prior to this trip, practitioners arrived in Shikoku to clarify the truth to the local media and distribute newsletters clarifying the truth about Dafa.á

On August 7, the tenth typhoon of the year in Japan landed in Shikoku. The practitioners didn't arrive until the middle of the next night. We found a place in a park along the river to set up a tent. We didn't have much sleep due to the typhoon.

Early next morning, we practiced the exercises and sent forth righteous thoughts as usual, and then we divided into two groups: one group took to the streets to distribute newsletters and collect signatures; the other group went to Kochi Ken. We delivered a petition to the head of Kochi Ken in the morning and held a press conference. Later, according to the practitioners who distributed newsletters and collected signatures on the streets, due to the heavy rain, they went to meet the station master of the Kochi City Train Station with truth-clarifying materials. When the station master learned that we came from afar at our own expense, and we came to rescue the wife of a Japanese citizen, he was amazed .

The next day, the typhoon was the focus of all of the newspapers, but the Daily News (Kochi Edition) still reported on our activity. Many people we met later while collecting signatures told us that they read about us in the newspaper. On the evening of August 10, we drove to Kagawa. It happened to be a big holiday, and few reporters could be found, but we met a reporter from the Shikoku News Agency and had a 40-minute conversation with him. At the end of our conversation, he said, "I finally know how and why the Chinese government suppresses Falun Gong. Thank you for bringing me so much information." The Shikoku News reported on our activity the next day.

On the evening of August 12, we arrived in Kyushu in a boat and joined with the car tour group there. We went to Miyazaki and were warmly received by the local government officials, who gave us some good suggestions. An official in charge of the international policy suggested that if we wanted the media to make an extensive report on this, we must first let them know how wonderful Falun Gong is. The car tour in these two areas collected more than 4,000 signatures in total.
