Xinhua News Agency Fabricates New Lies about Falun Gong After Documentaries Analyzing the Staged "Self-immolation" Were Broadcasted on Satellite TV

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, in certain areas of China, several satellite TV systems were intercepted and documentaries depicting the truth about Falun Gong were shown. These events left people very excited. It was noted by someone who frequented Internet chat rooms that people from such places as Guangdong Province, Guangxi Province, Yunnan Province and some of the Northeast regions in China among many others, were all able to see the spliced Falun Gong documentaries, which ranged from ten to twenty minutes in length.

It is easy to imagine how people would react after seeing such documentaries. One video clip discussed how the so-called Self-immolation Incident on Tiananmen Square was actually staged, and showed the incriminating slow-motion footage. Thousands upon thousands of people were able to clearly see that one of the "self-immolators," Liu Chunling, was actually bludgeoned to death by someone throwing a heavy object. People were also able to see that the police officers "miraculously" produced fire-extinguishers to put out the fire, while a plastic Sprite bottle, supposedly filled with gasoline, still remained intact after a ravaging fire. They saw that the young girl who supposedly underwent a tracheotomy could still sing songs, and the self-immolator's burnt body was wrapped completely in bandages, going against all medical procedures. When the truth was finally revealed on TV, how would the viewers feel? When people realized from the TV programs that Falun Dafa has been welcomed all around the world, and that it is being practiced in over 60 countries, again how would they react?

People from Shenyang City, Liaoning Province shared their excitement with each other after watching the documentary, "Between Heaven and Earth," which was spliced into the Beijing Satellite TV System. They were surprised and delighted. They told their friends: "The TV is showing positive images about Falun Gong!" "The Communist Party's deception is so despicable" "Falun Gong is really remarkable." Some people angrily responded: "I can't believe it, Jiang Zemin is just too evil, too wicked; he groundlessly started the persecution against such good citizens, how can a President of a nation act so inhumanely!"

With more and more people becoming clearer about Falun Gong and the persecution, former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin and his faction must feel that each day is agonizingly long, each seeming like a year. More than a week after the spliced TV programs were aired, the state-run Xinhua news agency finally managed to come up with a response, using phrases like "military intelligence department" "secret training" and "Taiwan's independence movement," in a clumsy attempt to appeal to nationalistic sentiment among the people.

In the Xinhua program, Falun Gong practitioners--a group that tries by every means to avoid politics--is depicted as being connected to some fictitious "military intelligence agents." Seeing that the Chinese people have now seen through all of their previous propaganda, Jiang's group can only try to come up with new lies such as that Falun Gong is part of "Taiwan's independence movement," and the "counter-progressive" forces. They hope that this will deflect people's attention from various upheavals around the nation, while at the same time incite more hatred against Falun Gong.

Why did the Jiang faction avoid discussing the nature of the Dafa documentaries that were aired, but instead changed the subject while talking about the TV programs? Why didn't they dare to show the contents of the documentaries themselves to back up their claims? Were they afraid that the people of China would be able to distinguish right from wrong? If there were no slander, no accusations, and no lies, why would there need to be a campaign to let people know the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution? If there were no injustice, why would people need to stand up to expose the facts, even under the threat of death?

Another question that one should ask is, "Why is the Jiang group so sensitive to the fact that there are more than 300,000 Falun Gong practitioners in Taiwan?" If the accusations by Jiang's regime against Falun Gong were true, how could there be so many people practicing it legally in Taiwan? What sort of message does this send to the public, highlighting such a sharp contrast between the two sides of the Strait? China is the only country in the world that persecutes Falun Gong, the only country that views the principles of Falun Gong, "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance," as criminal teachings. Right now, Falun Gong is being practiced in over sixty countries and has also received more than 1,200 honors and awards from nations and other governing agencies. Why would so many countries be willing to act as the so-called "Anti-China forces" touted by Jiang and his followers? After all, it was Jiang himself who single-handedly initiated the policy of persecuting Falun Gong, in full violation of the Chinese Constitution. Isn't it obvious he has been using catch-phrases such as the so-called "Anti-China forces" and "Taiwan's independence movement" to cover up his own jealousy and personal ambitions ever since the persecution began?

Why does the Jiang group never consider the cost of blocking all overseas TV programs? Can the country be kept "stable" only by totally insulating the people from the outside world?
