Since July 1999, the Jiang regime has employed the entire resources of its government machinery, including the military, national security, police, judiciary and mass media, to carry out a campaign of genocide against Falun Gong. The Jiang regime established the 610 Office, disregarding the Constitution', to coordinate and execute its policy of eradicating Falun Gong. The state-controlled media used lies and deception to instigate public hatred against Falun Gong. Over one hundred torture methods, such as beating, electric shocking, burning, sexual abuse and forced injection of nerve-damaging drugs, were used to inflict physical and spiritual torture on Falun Gong practitioners who steadfastly persevered in their beliefs. To date at least 1,170 Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted to death. In the meantime, in addition to coercion and enticing people with personal interests, the Jiang group has blocked all factual information about Falun Gong so as to prevent the world from knowing that the practice is being illegally persecuted.

In order to call for an end to this persecution and the abuse of human rights as soon as possible, Russian Dafa practitioners took advantage of World Human Rights Day to appeal for an end to the persecution at the exit of the subway in the centre of the city.

Many passersby read the posters seriously whilst accepting a leaflet. People were very interested to listen to practitioners' explanation of the facts about Falun Gong and many wanted information on their local practice sites where they can learn the exercises for free.
