(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Lian Hua, a 55-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner living in a township of Shuangcheng City, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong three times and was arrested by the police on five separate occasions. Each time, she broke though the persecution with her strong righteous thoughts.
The first time that Ms. Lian went to Beijing to appeal was in May 2000. As a result, she was detained, and spent three major traditional Chinese holidays at the detention center. These included the Dragon Boat Festival (On May 5 of the Lunar calendar), the Mid Autumn Festival (On August 15 of the Lunar calendar), and the Spring Festival (The Chinese New Year). When she was tortured so badly that she could not bear any more suffering, she would ask Master for help in her mind: "Master, please save your student!" Then, Master would appear to her and the torture would stop right there. She said, "For that situation to happen [Master appearing], our minds must be very righteous." Whenever she found herself with the attachment of zealotry or showing-off, she would be beaten black and blue, ending up with a swollen head. However, when her righteous thoughts were strong, she would not feel any pain as she was being beaten.
On April 16, 2002, Ms. Lian was sentenced to Wanjia Forced Labor Camp for 2 years. As she was leaving the detention center to go to the camp, everyone in her cell was crying. She said, "Why are you crying? I will go to validate Dafa. I will be back very soon." Once she arrived at the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp, she tore up the written notice of her sentence, and said, "I'm not a criminal, so you can not sentence me." She was released that day.
On May 19, 2002, Ms. Lian was abruptly captured and sent to the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp again, to be brainwashed. While the officials interrogated her, she told them the truth continuously. When the policemen locked her in the iron chair [a torture method], she shouted out, "Falun Dafa is great!" loudly and told the truth to them with mercy. She told them, "As a Falun Gong practitioner I have no complaints or hatred, but please send word to my sons, so that they don't avenge themselves against the persons involved in persecuting me in our village. Also, please don't let my husband know my true situation, in case he can't handle the stress." She was released the very next day.
Once the village commission seized Ms. Lian and was planning to send her away. She asked sternly, "What law have I broken? Give me the reason for which you captured me. I need to tell you that Jiang Zemin is a foolish and self-indulgent ruler. He is persecuting good citizens." As a result, the village commission let her go. However, she said, "I will not leave until you tell me the reason that you arrested me. Everybody saw you bring me here. I need a clear explanation." This practitioner's righteous thoughts and righteous actions awed the evil. Afterwards, the officials of the village commission didn't bother her any more.
Ms. Lian had a name tag with "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance" inscribed on it. Every time that she went to a market place, she would wear the name tag and clarify the truth to people. While telling people the facts about the persecution, she gave them flyers as well. One day when she had just finished giving out her flyers, the Party Secretary of her village caught her and tried to humiliate her. He said, "You would like to loudly shout out, 'Falun Dafa is great,' wouldn't you? So today I will let you yell as much as you want. You are not even allowed to stop!" The Party Secretary asked two persons to hold on to her, and to walk her around the whole market place. As she walked, she shouted out loudly, "My fellow friends and neighbors, Falun Dafa is the great law of the universe! Please don't believe the deceitful propaganda on TV. Falun Gong is good! Falun Gong is suffering the greatest persecution in human history!" She shouted loudly and with happiness across the entire market place. The Party Secretary then released her. From then on, the officials of her village never bothered her again. Following that event, every time she went to the market, somebody would yell, "Falun Dafa is great!" She would tell that person, "You should say this from the bottom of your heart." When somebody would shout out, "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance is Great!" she would respond, "Remember it forever."
Ms. Lian would clarify the truth wherever she went. A policeman from the township police station came to learn the truth due to her efforts. Whenever there were some important local events, he would show a truth clarification video to people. When someone was raped and the authorities tried to frame a Falun Gong practitioner, the policeman responded immediately. He said, "People who practice Falun Gong are all good people. They would not commit this crime."
