Dafa Practitioner Mr. Ji Ping from Shanghai is Sent To Forced Labor Camp Again

March 6, 2004

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Ji Ping, a Shanghai Dafa practitioner, was arrested in September 2003 at Zhabei Section. In October, he was sentenced to three years of forced labor. In December, he was sent to the Shanghai Third Forced Labor Camp (also called Qingdong Farm). His family is barred from visiting him. This is the second time Ji Ping has been sent to forced labor since he was released on May 12, 2002 after serving two years of hard labor.

Mr. Ji Ping started his Dafa practice in Chongren County, Jiangxi Province in October 1998. On May 13, 2000, he was arrested for appealing in Beijing. Then, he was sent back to Shanghai and was immediately sentenced to two years of forced labor. Because Ji Ping has been persistent in Dafa cultivation, the camp personnel couldn't obtain any information from him. Upon being released, he went to work for an express delivery company as field personnel in July 2002. His boss regarded him highly and gave him the most difficult tasks to do. He bore the burden of responsibility well and left a very good impression on his customers. People couldn't believe that such a kind person was being sentenced to two years of forced labor.

Five Dafa Practitioners were Arrested At End of 2003

At the end of 2003, Jiping was arrested at a site which produces materials to clarify the truth about the persecution. At least five Dafa practitioners were arrested: Huang Dingyi (graduated from Tongji University with a Master degree. Because of his persistence in Dafa practice, after serving hard labor and being released in August 2002, he is once again facing possible imprisonment or hard labor.); Chu Xueshi (also graduated from Tongji University and was working for the same company as Huang Dingji. Being released in May 2003 after serving hard labor, he is facing a second imprisonment or hard labor); Jiang Bin (A graduate of the Shanghai Finance and Economics University. He found a job in August 2003, but was dismissed after the local "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.] called to inform the employer that he is a Falun Gong practitioner and should not be employed. He managed to get away after being arrested.); Fan Yanming (After being released in July 2003 from a forced labor camp, he is facing a second imprisonment or hard labor.); Xie Hang (He is facing a second imprisonment or hard labor.)

Human Tragedies in Shanghai Third Hard Labor Camp

After Jiang Zemin fled to Shanghai to evade SARS last April, several tragedies happened in the Shanghai Third Forced Labor Camp. Under brutal persecution, Li Jun, a Dafa practitioner, suffered mental torture. Police continued to abuse him by hitting his head with high voltage electric batons. They didn't let up until the doctor proclaimed that Li had suffered mental dysfunction. Even then, he was still being forced to sit on a small bench and not allowed to move. Due to a long time sitting still, his buttocks were found to be atrophied. He is now being released from the forced labor camp.

A forty some year old Dafa practitioner was sent to the Third Forced Labor Camp in October 2003. He was well the first day. However, his whole body was inflicted with edema and he developed swelling in his head the next day. People passing his room on the first night at the camp heard some low "woo-woo" sounds as if a voice was coming from a muffled mouth. On October 16, 2003, it became known that Dafa practitioner, Liu Xingguo, (a former village secretary) from Shanghai Pudong Xin Section, had been cruelly beaten to death.
