Falun Gong practitioners in Sydney held a public event in the City Center to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the April 25, 1999 peaceful appeal by 10,000 practitioners in Beijing. Many practitioners gathered near the Sydney Town Hall to demonstrate the peaceful Falun Gong exercises and to show truth clarification videos and photo displays.

One of the displays showed samples of products made by Falun Gong practitioners forced to work as slaves in labor camps in China. A passerby spoke with a practitioner at this table:

Passerby: Do you have a list of the products made by Falun Gong practitioners [in forced labor camps]?

Practitioner: Yes, there is a comprehensive list available on the Internet. Go to the website http://www.grandtrial.org/English/

Passerby: Good to know; I want to know what products NOT to buy!

Many people were shocked to learn that such atrocities against human rights could take place in the 21st century.

Truth clarifying videos were shown on a large screen so that people going by were able to learn the truth about the persecution. Images of the brutal torture suffered by the practitioners and details of the human rights violations in China contrasted with the peaceful exercise movements, as more and more practitioners appeared at the Sydney Town Hall in the evening.

Practitioners in their teens and younger also came to help with the truth clarification. One young practitioner said, "This is the first time I have come out to do this, but it feels good to do so."

It is a privilege for practitioners to have the opportunity to tell the public about Falun Gong and to be able to let another person know about this upright practice. Each step we take in clarifying the truth, each pamphlet we hand out and every gesture of goodwill makes a world of difference.
