1. [Beijing] Three Dafa Practitioners Tortured at Beijing's Female Forced Labor Camp
A. Dafa practitioner Ms. Yang Xiaofeng had been on a hunger strike for eight months at Beijing's Female Forced Labor Camp and was later sent to a police hospital for additional torture. During her hospitalization, doctors issued her family a critically ill notification. She had symptoms of mental collapse following the torture she received in the hospital. At present she is being detained at the No. 1 Division of Beijing's Female Forced Labor Camp.
B. Since practitioner Ms. Qiu Shuqin refused to give up her righteous belief at Beijing's Female Forced Labor Camp, she was always locked up in solitary confinement. Wardens only permit her to sleep three hours every day, often forced her to stand facing walls, and also beat her up frequently. If there were an inspection of the forced labor camp, they transfer her somewhere to hide her from the inspectors.
C. Practitioners Ms. He Wen was placed in a forced labor camp and had her detention extended, but she refused to give up her belief in Falun Dafa. Eventually she walked out of the forced labor camp in a dignified manner, but is presently being detained at the Beijing Forced Labor Camp. She has been on a hunger strike to protest the persecution but is being force-fed daily at the Tuanhe Hospital.
2. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Extended Detention of Practitioner Yang Wenjun
Practitioner Mr. Yang Wenjun, 50, is a farmer living at the No. 3 Division, Shuxiang Village, Erdao Township, Fengman District, Jilin City, Jilin Province. He obtained Dafa in 1996 and started his practice to be a good person following the principles of "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance." At 6:00 p.m. on October 23, 2002, officers from Erdao Township's Police Precinct and the township's "610 Office"(1) arrested him from his home. During the arrest policemen beat him into a coma. Five or six policemen carried him to a police vehicle and took him to the police precinct.
On the second day they transferred him to Jilin City's No. 3 Detention Center. Twenty days later he was again transferred, this time to Jiutai City's Detention Center, and detained there for a year. As he refused to give up his righteous belief, his detention term had been extended twice and was eventually changed to an unlimited detention term. Policemen claimed that if he still refused to give up he would never be released. Yang has been detained about five months beyond the deadline.
3. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Persecution Account of Dafa Practitioner Yang Huixia in the Heizuizi Female Prison
Dafa practitioner Ms. Yang Huixia, in her 30s, lives in Jilin City's East Market. She previously worked for Chuanying District Education Bureau's Enterprise Management Office. In March 2002 she was arrested. At present she is being held in the No. 4 Team, No. 12 Prison District in Jilin Province's Heizuizi Female Prison, and has suffered cruel torture. She once staged a hunger strike in prison to protest mistreatment because she refused to give up her belief. She is now held in the "Old-Weak-Ill and Disabled Team." (Note: only people that are in extremely poor condition are in this team.) As the police do not allow her husband and mother to visit her, details about Yang Huixia's physical condition are unknown.
Yang Huixia's former work unit: Chuanying District Education Bureau's Enterprise Management Office, Jilin City (postal code: 132001). Director Zhang Hongtao fired her.

4. [Huangchuan County, Henan Province] Dafa Practitioner Liu Zhenfang is Being Held at Guangsan County's Detention Center
Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Zhenfang, 48, from Pengdian Township, Huangchuan County, has been detained five times since July 20, 1999. She has suffered excruciating torture and had several thousand yuan extorted from her by the authorities Yuan (2).
On February 2, 2004, (the second day of the year according to the Chinese lunar calendar), Zhao Miao, the Political & Security Section chief for Huangchuan County's Police Department, Wu Weiguo, the Political & Security Section chief for Guangshan County's Police Department, along with a dozen policemen, broke into and ransacked Liu Zhenfang's home, and forcibly took her and her non-practitioner husband away. They are now being held at Guangsan County's Detention Center.

5.[Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioners Zhang Jun and Zhao Chunxiang are Taken Away
On March 18, 2004 Dafa practitioners Zhang Jun and Ms. Zhao Chunxiang were reported to police. Personnel from the Xihu Police Department under Benxi City's Police Department collaborated with chief Sun from the Dongfeng Township Police Station and abducted the two practitioners from home. Their whereabouts are unknown.

6. [Antu County, Jilin Province] Police Arrest Dafa Practitioner Wang Haihua
On March 3, 2004, policemen Jin Zhenshan, Hao Bo, Wang Yuling (female), and others from Antu County's National Security Team ransacked Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Haihua's home. Even her neighbor's place was ransacked as well.
At around 7:00 a.m. on March 4, 2004, these policemen again arrested Wang Haihua while she was working in a car wash. Her two children, aged 12 and 10, are left without care.

7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioner You Xiaotang
and Attempted Arrest of Mr. Li Suguo
Practitioner Mr. You Xiaotang, 42, is a teacher at Kongbu Town's Baiyang Advanced Elementary School in the Xinzhou District, Wuhan City. On March 11, 2004 Kongbu Town's Political and Judiciary Committee, people from the "610 Office," and some policemen led by Zhang Deming and Wang Jinyou collaborated. They went to the town's high school and the Zhoushang Elementary School to arrest practitioners Mr. Li Suguo and Mr. Zhang Xiaobing, but failed. Then they rushed to the town's Baiyang Advanced Elementary School and arrested You Xiaotang, who was at work, and sent him to the Liuji Brainwashing Class.
8. [Yongzhou City, Hunan Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioners Zhang Yangui and He Qunyang
At around 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on March 5, 2004 policemen from Huangnitang Town's Police Precinct arrested practitioners Zhang Yangui and He Qunyang from Qiyang County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, while they were distributing Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials. The next day, police from the county's Jinbaotang Police Precinct searched practitioner He Qunyang's home and confiscated a cell phone worth 2,000 Yuan. Now it's confirmed that these two practitioners have been transferred from Huangnitang Town's Police Precinct to the Qiyang County Detention Center.

9. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioner Xun Xianjin
On March 14, 2004 practitioner Xun Xianjin from Rongcheng City was arrested from home. Xing Jianping, an official of the political security section from Rongcheng City, and plainclothes police from the Nanshan Street Police Precinct were the perpetrators. Mr. Xun is presently being detained at Rongcheng City's Detention Center.

10. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] "610 Office" Personnel Arrest Xiao Zixiang And Other Dafa Practitioners
In the early morning of February 25, 2004, a group of people from Xiangtan City's "610 Office," from the Police Department and local Residential Community Office came to the home of practitioner Mr. Xiao Zixiang, an employee of the Natural Gas Company. These people claimed that they were afraid Falun Gong practitioners would come out to hold some activities during The Two Conferences,(3) so they wanted Xiao to attend a brainwashing session at the Legal Systems Education Center (actually a brainwashing center) at the Wujia Garden. Xiao, over 60 years old, refused to go, as did his wife.
He said, "I study the Falun Dafa principles, practice the Dafa exercises at home, and try to be a good person. This is my fundamental human right. Why should I go to the brainwashing center? Officials are having meetings in Beijing while I am leading an ordinary life in Xiangtan City. How could I affect the conferences? It does not make sense. It is impossible that you want to force me to give up my belief at the brainwashing center. I have been put into prisons. It is your daydream to brainwash me."
But seven or eight people from the "610 Office" forcibly took Xiao downstairs from the fifth floor and sent him to the Wujia Garden's Brainwashing Class.
Another Dafa practitioner, Ms. Zhang Yaqin, was also taken away. Her whereabouts are unclear.
11. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioners Qi Xiangru and Liu Shuying Are Tortured to the Point of Physical Collapse
Dafa practitioner Qi Xiangru is detained at Shenyang City's Masanjia Prison and practitioner Ms. Liu Shuying is detained at the Longshan Forced Labor Camp. Now both of them have been tortured so severely they are extremely weak. Their eyesight is blurred and they need help even when walking. Their situation is very severe.
12. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Arrest of Five Dafa Practitioners for Creating Truth-clarifying Signs
On the night of March 3, 2004, when five female Dafa practitioners including Tian Suqin, Guo Peiling, Han Yuzhen, and Shu Qing from Jinan City were making signs "Bring Jiang to Justice" at a village near the Gaoxin District, they were reported. Then officers from Gaoxin District's Police Precinct arrested them. One practitioner was injured and sent to the Armed Police Hospital while others (except for a young practitioner) were sent to Jinan City's Liuchangshan Detention Center. The injured practitioner was also sent to the detention center the same night. It was heard that she was severely injured.
13. [Qianjiang City, Hubei Province] Illegal Fining of Dafa Practitioners
Mr. Li Handong, from the Seed Company, fined 2,000 Yuan

Ms. Zhou Shunying, from the Seed Company, fined 5,190 Yuan
Ms. Hu Yulan, from the Qianjiang Middle School, fined 10,000 Yuan
Ms. Pan Kexiang, from the Qianjiang Middle School, fined 7,000 Yuan
After Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhou Wencai went to Beijing to appeal in November 1999 for the first time, she was forced to pay a 2,000 Yuan "deposit," and her work unit was also fined 3,000 Yuan by orders of Qianjiang City's Police Department. In September 2000 she went to Beijing to appeal for the second time, but was detained for one month and fined 3,000 Yuan. In April 2001 she went to appeal for the third time, was fined 500 Yuan at Hankou City's Railroad Police Office and was then detained at the Yangshi Detention Center for 45 days and fined another 900 Yuan. The total extortion she has paid for the three detentions is 9,400 Yuan.
Dafa practitioner Ms. Feng Jinxiang went to Beijing to appeal in October 1999 and was detained three days afterwards. Later she was sent to Qianjiang City's Liaison Office in Beijing and was detained there 24 hours before policemen from Qianjiang City's Police Department took her back. Ms. Feng was forced to pay all the transportation and accommodation "fees" of those lawless policemen, about 1,000 Yuan, and was fined an additional 2,000 Yuan. The total extortion she had to pay was 3,000 Yuan.
14. [Gong'an County, Hubei Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioners
Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Shaoqing, 60, is from Guanliuzui Village, Banzhudang Town, Gong'an County, Hubei Province. At 8:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. on March 12, 2004, the town's police department chief and assistant chief, as well as two officers from the county's police department, and others, five or six people in total, broke into Wang's home through the windows. No matter how Wang's family dissuaded them, they even claimed they would arrest Wang's son who does not even practice Falun Gong. They finally arrested Wang Shaoqing, an act which violates the Chinese constitution, and told her family that she would be sent to Wuhan City's Brainwashing Center.
(1) 610 Office is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
(2) Yuan is Chinese currency. 500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.
