1) Mr. He Xianzhong, 49, lives with his wife and daughter in Baise City, Guangxi Province. He is a member of the Democratic Association of China, and is also a talented artist in traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy.

After July 1999 when Jiang and his followers began persecuting Falun Gong, Mr. He went to Beijing to appeal. Several times, he expressed that he would persist in his practice of Falun Gong and that the persecution was wrong. The police illegally detained him at the Baise Detention Center for over six months, during which time they put him in solitary confinement and didn't allow him to speak with others. Some practitioners in Baise later went to appeal for his release. In August 2000, Mr. He was sent to the Nanning City No. 1 Forced Labor Camp, from which he was released in early 2001.

Recently, it was learned that he was sentenced to a forced labor camp for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to people.

2) Ms. Huang Yuanran, 30, is a teacher at Nanning Minority Normal University in Guangxi Province. After July 20, 1999, she persisted in practicing Falun Gong, and in October 1999, went to Beijing to appeal. The head of her school fired her and forced her to divorce her husband. She was subsequently sent back to her hometown of Baise, where she currently resides.

In the latter half of 2000, she was sentenced to a forced labor camp, where she endured all sorts of persecution. However, that did not shake her faith in Falun Dafa. Holding righteous thoughts, she was able to leave the labor camp.

3) Ms. Wei Hongri, over 50, lives in Nanning City. In the latter half of 2000, she was sentenced to a forced labor camp. She was later released in 2001, after which she still continued to clarify the truth of Falun Gong to people. Her residence was often monitored day and night. She noticed that there were even some small red spots cast on her wall and desk from lights that shone through her window from outside. In March 2002, she was detained for several days and then again sentenced to a forced labor camp.

4) Mr. Zhang Zhihui, 30, lives in Hepo County, Guangxi Province, where he is a substitute teacher at a school in the countryside. In August 2000, he was sentenced to a forced labor camp, where he endured severe persecution.

5) Mr. Huang Ling, over 30, lives in Nanning City. In October 2000, because he insisted on practicing Falun Gong, he was illegally sentenced to a forced labor camp, where he endured severe persecution.
