(Clearwisdom.net) On February 9, 2004, Ms. Chen Minqing, a 52-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner was arrested in her hometown, Cenxi City, Guangxi Province. The reason was that she had handed out truth-clarifying materials at a wedding banquet. The content of the materials included information on Falun Dafa practitioners being persecuted in China and Jiang Zemin being sued overseas for genocide, crimes against humanity and torture. She was illegally detained and prosecuted under false accusations by policemen of Cenxi City, Guangxi Province.

The court opened on May 21, 2004, and was in session from 3:10 p.m. to 5:40 p.m. The whole trial was a battle between good and evil, and a demonstration of Falun Dafa practitioners resisting the persecution, validating Dafa, clarifying the truth, saving sentient beings and exposing the persecution.

When the public prosecutors charged Chen Minqing with distributing the truth-clarifying materials mentioned above, she replied :

"According to China's constitution and laws, a citizen has the freedoms of belief, speech, publishing, association, parade, protest and personal freedom. At the same time, every citizen has the right to criticize, suggest, appeal, prosecute, impeach and gain compensation and equality - namely, all citizens are equal under the law without exception.

"Then, if a government wishes to achieve stability, prosperity and trust from its people, the policies and organization must be made in accordance with the law, virtue, and be trustworthy for the people. Anyone who makes use of his political power to trample the law and go above the constitution and the law, who incites conflicts and animosities among people, who persecutes people who are trying to be good people according to their belief in 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance,' must be put on trial in the court of the constitution, the law, morality and conscience.

"Anyone who deprives people of the freedom of belief, speech and publishing, who deprives them of the rights to peacefully gather and appeal to the government to redress injustice, who deprives people of the right to know the facts, who ignores the appeals of people and acts against the will of the people, who hurts the interests of people, who persecutes good people who believe in 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance' by imposing forced accusations in order to achieve his aim of persecution, must be punished by the constitution and law, no matter who he is, and no matter how long it takes. The persecutor can never escape the trial of conscience and morality, and is doomed to be a criminal in history and the shame of the nation.

"Falun Dafa practitioners have their beliefs. They are kind and live by high moral standards. They are not selfish but, rather, are strict with themselves according to the standard of 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance.' They are trying to be good people with noble personalities and high morality. They are responsible to society, to their jobs and families and are kind to others. Such people can never be linked to wickedness; how can one find the evil in these good people? As to the truth-clarification materials, they are read throughout the world. The materials contain the facts about what has happened in China. They are wholesome and induce kindness. It is normal to read them, as if one were reading a daily newspaper. Therefore, it is groundless for me to be accused of 'Breaching the implementation of the law by means of the evil cult organization.' For the above reasons, I ask the judges to distinguish right from wrong, truly safeguard the normal operation of the constitution and the law, bring those who really trampled the constitution and the law to the court and sentence them to protect the kind people with good morality. I should be unconditionally released, and Falun Dafa should be restored its good reputation. I hope there will be no more demonstrations of 'the Emperor's new clothes.'(1) People desire peace and justice; good people with high morality should be protected and justice should be promoted."

The counsel for the defense justified Chen Minqing's innocence from the perspective of the law.

During the whole process of validating Dafa and resisting the persecution, the public prosecutors attempted to stop Chen Minqing's plea several times; however, they failed under the righteous thoughts of Falun Dafa practitioners. During the trial, Chen Minqing had validated that Falun Dafa is good, righteous and popular all over the world by using a great number of examples. The people in the court gradually understood the goodness of Falun Dafa under Chen Minqing's powerful and well-organized arguments. They discussed with each other in whispers and looked at Chen Minqing with admiring eyes and kind smiles.

Other Falun Dafa practitioners in the courtroom were sending forth righteous thoughts.

There was not a single witness who showed up that day, only their names were announced.

At present the final result of the trial of Chen Minqing is awaiting the announcement of the court.
