1. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Ruihua and Her Five-Year-Old Son Brutally Taken into Custody by Gaomi Township Police

On May 6, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Sun Ruihua brought her five-year-old son along to distribute Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials at the country fair in Gaomi. Police took Ms. Sun into custody and their brutality terrified the child. Bystanders rebuked the officers for abusing the mother and child, both of whom were thrown into a police vehicle. Later, Ms. Sun's husband went to visit them and demand the release of his loved ones. Police refused to release either one of them and the only contact Sun's husband had with his family was a peek through a window. By that point the mother and the son had not had any food or drink for a day and a night.

2. [Shandan County, Gansu Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Zhou Junqi Arrested

On the evening of April 30, 2004, Shandan County Falun Dafa practitioner Zhou Junqi was arrested while hanging banners in the Weiqi Township, near the county government and in the county's Nanhu Park.

3. [Shandong Province] Four Falun Dafa Practitioners from Qilu Petrochemical Company Unlawfully Arrested and Taken to the Zibo City Detention Center

On April 21, Falun Dafa practitioners Zhang Ping, Zhao Yuying, Zhou Yuxiang, and Jia Hongxia from Qilu Petrochemical Company went to the countryside to distribute Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. They were unlawfully arrested by local authorities and are now being held at the Zibo City Detention Center.

4. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Facts About the Persecution of Ms. Li Wei, a Nurse at Meihuazen Clinic, and Her Husband

In May 2003, Ms. Li Wei, a nurse at the Meihuazhen Clinic in Yanji City, Jilin Province, and her husband were arrested by the Yanji City State Security Brigade for being steadfast in their beliefs in Falun Dafa . With righteous thoughts in mind, they managed to escape. At the end of February 2004, the couple was again arrested. Li's husband was released, as he appeared to be very ill. Ms. Li remains in custody.

5. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Su Weihuan Detained at Longshan Forced Labor Camp

In February 2003, Shenyang City Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Su Weihuan was arrested while distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials in Sujiatun, Liaoning Province. Later she was unlawfully sent to the Longshan Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City. She was held in the No. 2 Brigade.

After receiving her bachelor's degree, Ms. Su Weihuan, 33, became an engineer with the Liaoning Province Hydraulic and Electric Science Research Institute. In December 1999, she went to Beijing to peacefully appeal the persecution. She was arrested and thrown into a Women's detention center in Zaohua Township in Shenyang City. In March 2004, officer Tang Yubao beat her using a charged electric baton.

6. [Tianjin] Several Falun Dafa Practitioners in Beichen and Hedong Districts Arrested; Their Homes Ransacked

On April 12 and 13, officers from the Tianjin City Police Department unlawfully arrested five Falun Dafa practitioners in the Beichen District, including Mr. Li Yuanyong, Ms. Xu Xueli, and Ms. Shao Shuwen.

Mr. Ma Hongzhi and Mr. Qiu Gang from Hedong District, Mr. Li Yuanyong from Beichen District, and Ms. Liu from Hongqiao District are currently being held at the Hebei Branch Police Department. Their homes have all been ransacked.

7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xiao Yanmei Held at the Shuangyang No. 3 Detention Center

Ms. Xiao Yanmei, 46, is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Changchun City, Jilin Province. In mid-April 2004, she was arrested while in the home of another Falun Gong practitioner. She is being held in the Shuangyang No. 3 Detention Center.

8. [Shaoyang City, Hunan Province] Daxiang District Court Unlawfully Puts Ms. Shen Zhihua and Mr. Liu Yong on Trial

Ms. Shen Zhihua, a woman in her 60's, and Mr. Liu Yong, who is in his 30's, are Falun Dafa practitioners from Shaoyang City, Hunan Province. In 2003, they were unlawfully arrested and were brutally beaten by police. On April 5, 2004, the Daxiang District Court in Shaoyang City sentenced Mr. Liu to five years in prison and Ms. Shen for three years. Around the same time, officials of the "610 Office" (1), police department, procuratorate (prosecution department in China), and the court extorted several thousand Yuan (2) from the practitioners' families. Mr. Liu Yong and Ms. Shen Zhihua insisted on their innocence and have filed appeals. Both practitioners remain in the Shaoyang City No. 2 Detention Center.

9. [Tongling City, Anhui Province] Ms. Yu Xiuhua Arrested

Ms. Yu Xiuhua is a Falun Dafa practitioner in Tongling City, Anhui Province. Around April 8, she was arrested on the way to her home in Wangjiang. She was sent to a brainwashing class held in a hotel in Tongling City. It has been reported that this brainwashing class was set up for her alone. Officials from the Tongling City Police Department, the Suburbs Branch Police Department and the Suburbs People's Government have participated in the persecution.

10. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Yang Guihong and Liu Jiageng Arrested

On the evening of March 13, 2004, Ms. Yang Guihong and two other female Falun Dafa practitioners from Ligezhuang village in Beimeng Town, Changyi City, Shandong Province were abducted by authorities. One of them was found and brought home while the other two remain missing.

On April 2, 2004, the police arrested a Falun Dafa practitioner from the same village named Liu Jiageng. Over a month has now passed and not a word has been heard from Liu.

11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Xin Unlawfully Held in Custody

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Lu Xin, 37, who has a Master's degree, works in the Chinese Language department of Changchun Univeristy. Ms. Lu is being unlawfully imprisoned in the Changchun City No. 3 Detention Center for refusing to renounce Falun Dafa.

12. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Several Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested

In April 2004, lawless officials in Jianchang County, Huludao City, Liaoning Province arrested seven female Falun Gong practitioners and sent them to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province.

Ms. Zhu Yun, a Falun Dafa practitioner in Huludao City, has been missing since late April 2004. No one has heard from her so far, and it is likely that she has been arrested.

The police took Ms. Wang Wenlian, a Falun Dafa practitioner in the petrochemical industry in Huludao City, away from her home at 3:00 p.m. on May 6, 2004.

On the evening of April 29, 2004 police ransacked Ms. Wang Lixiang's home. Wang is also a Falun Dafa practitioner in the petrochemical industry in Huludao City, and she has been forced out of her home, and now has no where to go.

13. [Liaoyang City, Shenyang Province] Ms. Zhuang Lanying in Liaozhong County Arrested

At 4:00 p.m. on April 30, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhuang Lanying was arrested near the building she lives in by officers from the Shenyang City Police Station and the local Xichu Police Station in Liaozhong County.

14. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Zhang Hong Unlawfully Taken to the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center

Zhang Hong is a Falun Dafa practitioner in Dongli District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. On the evening of May 8, 2004, Zhang was hanging Falun Dafa banners near the Dongfeng Prison in Dongfeng Town, Taiping District, Harbin City, and was spotted by armed police officers in the prison watchtower. Officers alerted the Dongfeng Police Station, who arrested Zhang. On May 9, Zhang was taken into custody to the Harbin No. 2 Detention Center and has since been interrogated by the Taiping District State Security Brigade in Harbin City.

Ms. Peng Yuyuan is an employee of the Hefei Science and Technology University. On the evening of May 8, she was taken to the Hefei City Detention Center by the Changhuai Police Station in Hefei City.

16. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Three Falun Dafa Practitioners in Dongxinzhuang Village Arrested

Around 10:00 p.m. on April 27, 2004, Li Yanjuan and other officers from the Shijiatun Town Police Station in Qiaoxi District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, set up a trap with the help of Yang Zilin, head of the security section in Dongxinzhuang Village. Yang asked three Falun Dafa practitioners to speak to the village committee. When the three practitioners, Dong Liyuan, Meng Jinzhen, and Wang Yuling arrived, they were swiftly arrested and taken to the police station. So far their whereabouts remain unknown.

17. [Linqu County, Shandong Province] Facts Regarding the Persecution of Several Falun Dafa Practitioners

Ms. Wang Yonglian, 60, retired from the county's Hydro-Bureau in August 1998. In November 2000, she was unlawfully sentenced to three years of forced labor. She was sent to the No. 3 Brigade of Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp where she was constantly persecuted and had over 22,000 Yuan in cash extorted from her by the county police department. Her workplace also fined her 3,000 Yuan.

Ms. Wu Chunxia was unlawfully sentenced to three years of forced labor in April 2001, and was sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City, Shandong Province. In 2000, she was expelled from the Yidu Nursing School in Shandong Province for practicing Falun Gong.

Mr. Lu Hongyue was an accountant in the country branch of the China Construction Bank. On October 18, 2000, he was unlawfully sentenced to three years of forced labor while being held at the Changle Forced Labor in Shandong Province. He was then fired by the bank in November 2000.

Mr. Shi Mingchang was unlawfully sentenced to three years of forced labor by the county police department in conspiracy with the county's armed police.

Ms. Sun Jihua used to work for the county's water supply company. On November 27, 2000, she was unlawfully sentenced to three years of forced labor and held in the Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp. The fines extorted from her for appealing peacefully and for being forced to attend brainwashing classes have added up to 11,000 Yuan.

18. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhu Xiangkuan in Luocheng Town Remains in Custody

Mr. Zhu Xiangkuan, 60, is a resident of Zhujia Village in Luocheng Town, Shouguang City, Shandong Province. Early in the morning on May 23, 2004, Shouguang police climbed over the wall and broke into his home. Without presenting any legal documents, they forcibly arrested him and confiscated 2,000 Yuan in cash. While holding Mr. Zhu in an unlawful detention, officers persistently demanded cash from his family, which they flatly refused to pay. Mr. Zhu has since been unlawfully sentenced to two years of prison. He remains in the Changle Forced Labor Camp.

19. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Yu Xiuhua Arrested

At 4:00 p.m. on April 29, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Qian was arrested at her home. She is an employee of the Shouguang Food Byproducts Company.

20. [Linqu County, Shandong Province] Ms. Lu Guifang Remains Missing after being Abducted by the "610 Office"

Ms. Lu Guifang is a Falun Dafa practitioner in Baijia Lizhao Village, Yangshan Town, Linqu County, Shandong Province. Members of the Weifang City "610 Office" arrested her around March 12, 2004. Her whereabouts remain unknown.

(1) The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

(2) The monthly income of an average urban worker is 500 Yuan.
