(Clearwisdom.net) Following the shooting of Falun Gong practitioners by hired gunmen in South Africa during Zeng Qinghong and other Party officials' visit to South Africa, Falun Dafa Association in Canada held a press conference on June 30, 2004 to condemn the terrorism act by Jiang's regime, to call for Canadian government's immediate action to stop the distribution of the hate propaganda by Jiang's regime in Canada and to prevent such incident from happening on Canadian territory.

The Falun Dafa Association in Canada pointed out in its statement that this violent act was no accident. The Falun Gong practitioner injured by the shooting was the only one in the group who happened to wear a shirt with words, "Falun Dafa." After the victim was injured and their car stopped, the gunmen didn't rob the practitioners. The incident happened during Zeng Qinghong and Bo Xilai's visit in South Africa. All facts indicate this is a planned terrorism act targeting Falun Gong practitioners.

The statement listed numerous attacks targeting Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese embassies and consulates and hired thugs. Falun Gong practitioners in Canada have personally experienced hate propaganda, attacks, discrimination, monitoring, threat and slander. Now, it has escalated to shooting Falun Gong practitioners, even outside China.

"Hiring gunmen to murder people of a certain faith is a terrorist act." Falun Gong practitioner Ginette D'Aoust-Castonguay said at the press conference. "We believe the shooting was a retaliation by Chinese officials for fear of exposure of their crimes."

Both Zeng Qinghong and Bo Xilai have personally directed and play active roles in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. According to Minghui reports, Zeng was charged for directing the persecution of Falun Gong in the United Nations on October 17, 2002. Bo has been sued for torture and crimes against humanity in the United States, Germany, Poland and other countries.
