On July 1 of last year, 500,000 people joined a demonstration in Hong Kong to protest against the "Article 23" legislature. One year later, more than 500,000 people had another demonstration to advocate "people's right to participate in politics and free elections." People have started to realize that Jiang Zemin is the person behind the chaos in Hong Kong. During the demonstration on July 1 this year, there was a new activity called "step over Jiang." This is the first time in the history that people used their feet to vote against Jiang's regime in China. The activity symbolized, "Step over the person who damages the nation and its people; get rid of the bad and advocate the good for the future." Recently the pictures and songs of "Step over Jiang" have been publicized on the Internet and in society.

The Taiwan Daily reported on July 2 that Zeng Qinghong, a core member of the Jiang's Regime, was suspected of hiring an assassin to shoot Australian Falun Gong practitioners who were appealing during his visit to South Africa on June 28. On June 30, about fifty Los Angeles Falun Gong practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate there. These practitioners condemned Zeng for hiring an assassin and asked the world's governments, media, and people to condemn Jiang's terrorism and the persecution against Falun Gong. At the same time, practitioners expressed that they will not be intimidated by this terrorist act, and are determined to bring justice to all persons responsible for the shooting.

I am Zhang Shan, from the city of Zigong in Sichuan Province. I was arrested in 2000 for telling the truth about Falun Gong. I was then sent to the Nanmusi Women's Labor Camp in Zizhong City, where I was humiliated and brutally tortured. On March 28, 2004, I was again arrested for telling the truth about Falun Gong. The police kicked and stepped on me, injuring my right leg, and leaving bruises over a large area of my body.

Mr. Chen Changguo, 50, is from the city of Liu'an in Anhui Province. He has been secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee in Liu'an City since July 20, 1999, and brutally persecutes Falun Gong practitioners. According to incomplete information, in Liu'an City alone, Chen and his people have sent more than 50 practitioners to forced labor camps, and illegally imprisoned more than 150 practitioners. They also persecuted Huoshan City practitioner, Mei Jianzhu, to death. Many Chinese Communist Party members who practiced Falun Gong were expelled from the party. Officials who practiced Falun Gong were fired and had their salary reduced. Harassment, monitoring, wire-tapping, opening and holding personal mails, confiscating household property, and extorting fines have become the means commonly used by Chen and his people to persecute practitioners. They have extorted more than 10,000 Yuan (1) in fines from the practitioners. Some practitioners' homes were ransacked up to 20 to 30 times in five years. Chen held many brainwashing sessions to force practitioners to give up their belief.

Recently, the director of the "610 Office" (2) in Beipiao City, Liaoning Province, Pei Hua, and the assistant director, Wang Yuxin, have frequently harassed those practitioners who attended the third brainwashing session in May 2002. Their excuse was to return the practitioners the 1,000 Yuan they were fined, in exchange for writing a "Guarantee Letter" (3). Using such means to force practitioners into giving up their beliefs violates the country's laws. Illegal imprisonment, blackmail, and illegally depriving citizens' rights of belief violate China's constitution.

Two female practitioners from the city of Lingyuan in Liaoning Province, Ms. Sun Yuling and Ms. Lu Fengyu, are over 60 years old. Both have been imprisoned and persecuted many times by the Lingyuan City No. 1 Detention Center. The Lingyuan City No. 1 Detention Center has also imprisoned and persecuted many innocent practitioners since 1999. The detention center often blackmails practitioners.

The Jizhong Police Department in the city of Renqiu, Hebei Province has persecuted many practitioners in recent years. They have fined, fired, imprisoned, brainwashed, sentenced, and also subjected innocent practitioners to forced labor. Recently, the Jizhong Police Department arrested practitioner Zheng Baohua from home. Zheng just got back from the Tangshan Labor Camp after spending one year there, and is now again imprisoned in the Jizhong Police Department.

Practitioner Ms. Liu Junying, 59, from Tangu Village, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, was subjected to numerous instances of persecution during the past several years only because she stated, "Falun Dafa is good." The Tangu Police Department and the village Administration and Security Committee constantly find all kinds of excuses to disturb Liu and her family's peaceful life.
