Johnny is shocked at such brutal persecution exerted on good people

On the morning of June 29, Falun Gong practitioners from Sacramento and San Francisco began their two-day anti-torture exhibition in front of the office building of the state capitol. Practitioners displayed a banner with the words, "This is Happening in China," informing the public about what has been happening in China, and the persecution endured by Falun Gong practitioners in China.

The live mock-torture re-enactment revealed to the public a tiny portion of a series of inhuman means applied in the suppression of Falun Gong practitioners in China, including slave labor, iron cage, digging bamboo sticks underneath practitioners' fingernails, burning practitioners' skin with heated iron bars, force-feeding, hanging and beating, and tightly bound clothes. In China, the tortures suffered by Falun Gong practitioners are extremely brutal. The psychiatric tortures are even worse, and are beyond one's imagination.

During the two-day exhibition, the participating practitioners overcame various hardships. Under the scorching sun, they took turns to peacefully practice the exercises, distribute flyers, and hold banners. Practitioners participating in the live mock-torture re-enactment, whether posed to be the torture victims or the police, they all treated their roles very seriously. Through Fa study and experience sharing, practitioners realized that we should constantly improve our performance and try our best to play the roles true to life so as to allow people to learn about the brutal nature of the persecution. In the meantime, we should remind each other to always maintain our righteous thoughts and truly move more people with Dafa practitioners' compassion.

The poster display with practitioners explaining verbally alongside attracted many people. Some stopped to listen to the comments, some attentively read the posters, some sat by the side of practitioners who demonstrated the exercises, and some helped practitioners to hold the banners. An African-American young man named Johnny attends classes in a nearby school. When he passed by after his classes, he was shocked at the scene. He said, "I really could not believe what I saw. I saw such a group of serene and peaceful people suffering such brutal persecution, and it is happening today, in 2004!" The next day, Johnny returned. He borrowed a copy of the book Zhuan Falun in a nearby public library. He sincerely asked, "What can I do to help? I really want to do something to help!" Johnny also gave a speech at the press conference. He said, "The anti-torture exhibition here reminds me of the Nazi Concentration camps. I don't know what I can do to help. But I feel that people throughout the world should all pay attention to this. We will work together to stop it and to prevent it from happening again!"

In the meantime, practitioners visited state assemblymen's offices to introduce our activities and invite them to view the display. There was also a remarkable echo in the state capital. Many staff members from different offices said that they saw our exhibition and found it quite moving. They also told their colleagues to view the exhibition. Among the staff members in the state capital, some gave us valuable suggestions, some expressed their support, and some asked about local practice sites and schedules. Some officials told us that this kind of exhibition was very powerful. They said that we did a good job and should keep doing it.

During the short two days, so many people were touched by the silent exhibition and so many lives were awakened!
