World Journal: Falun Gong Practitioners Protest Drive-By Shooting Incident in South Africa

July 4, 2004

(Clearwsidom.net) World Journal reported on June 30, 2004. To protest the drive-by shooting of nine Falun Gong practitioners from Australia on the evening of June 28 in South Africa, Falun Gong practitioners in San Francisco Bay Area gathered at 1 p.m. of June 29 in front of the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco. The Consulate was locked and did not respond to the incident.

Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Xuerong from Bay Area said that the nine practitioners went to South Africa to protest the Chinese [Jiang Zemin] regime's persecution of Falun Gong to the visiting Zeng Qinghong. The nine practitioners also planed to file a lawsuit charging Zeng for the crime of genocide. During the shooting incident, David Liang was the driver and was the only practitioner wearing a jacket with words of "Falun Dafa" on it. His two feet were wounded and his right foot bones were shattered. Currently, police are investigating the case.
