July 8, 2004 |   By practitioners from South Africa

(Clearwisdom.net) On June 28, 2004, when the Chinese Vice-President Zeng Qinghong, who has closely followed Jiang Zemin to persecute Falun Gong practitioners over the past few years, was visiting South Africa, a Falun Gong practitioner was shot in a drive-by attack near Johannesburg. The incident immediately aroused attention and condemnation from the international community.

In response to this incident, Falun Dafa practitioners in Korea delivered a statement to the South African Embassy in Korea condemning this terrorist act. The statement urged the South African officials to immediately take action to held stop this state-terrorism. The statement said, "In order to expose and stop the persecution, in order to bring those who persecute Falun Gong to justice, nine Australian Falun Gong practitioners went to South Africa to peacefully appeal. But they were victims of a driveby shooting in South Africa. As various signs indicated, this was not a random event but an attempted murder aiming at political persecution." Practitioners also revealed the incident and what was behind it to two media outlets.
