Aug. 2, 2004 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Dong Xinran was abducted by police in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province on March 31, 2004. Dong Xinran's husband received notice on June 4, 2004 from the Liaoning Province Prison Hospital that his wife was in critical condition. The notice had been issued by the hospital on June 2. When Dong Xinran's husband arrived at the hospital on the morning of June 5, her body was emaciated and she was unconscious, with sporadic twitching and body movements. There were signs of darkened blood clots on and around her teeth and gums. Her condition was critical.

The prison hospital had notified the Tiexi District Detention Center to address the patient numerous times after Dong Xinran's condition became critical, yet the detention center officials refused to believe it. Finally they sent someone to check on Ms. Dong and this person reported that, "Dong could easily last another month without eating." On the afternoon of June 5, 2004, Dong Xinran's relatives urgently contacted the Tiexi District Detention Center and the Political & Judiciary Committee but the responsible deputies claimed, "We are not involved anymore. We have transferred the case to the court, and are awaiting sentencing." Finally, they coerced the relatives into signing a "Guarantee Paper" as well as paying 5,000 Yuan (1) bail and 3,000 Yuan for the medical bills before releasing Ms. Dong on bail for health reasons. That evening, her relatives sent Dong Xinran to the Shenyang City No. 8 People's Hospital for treatment. Dong Xinran still remains in a coma as of this moment. Due to being unable to urinate, her kidneys and abdominal cavity have accumulated fluid.
