We Can Remove Attachments When We're Able to Think from Beyond those Attachments

Oct. 11, 2005

(Clearwisdom.net)

I always hear a fellow practitioner saying that he has an attachment that is hard to get rid of, and that he feels very pained over it. From my perspective I would say he is stuck in the state of individual cultivation.

When we are doing the three things that Master requires us to do, we may have some interference due to attachments. If we break through the interference and keep clarifying the truth, our attachments will naturally be gone.

I feel that if we try to get rid of attachments from within the framework of those attachments, it will be harder. But if we try to eradicate the attachments from beyond the attachments, it will be much easier. An example is trying to get rid of the attachment of qing while we're mired in it - the more we work on it, the harder it is to give it up.

In daily life, I study the Fa and do the exercises when I am alone, and I make efforts to clarify the truth when I am with people. If our minds are in the Fa all the time, there should be no interference from any attachment. Instead, we should be totally immersed in the Fa-rectification. In fact, at the present stage, any thought that is not related to saving sentient beings is an attachment.
