New Jersey Legislature

October 4, 2005

The Honorable George W. Bush
President of the United States
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

Dear Mr. President,

We are writing to you today on behalf of all Falun Gong practitioners in China. In particular, we are writing on behalf of the orphans who are left behind, after their parents are arrested, detained and tortured simply for practicing Falun Gong.

It is our understanding that Falun Gong is a peaceful and spiritual practice cultivating the mind and the body of those who practice it. Unfortunately, however, the Chinese government feels that practicing Falun Gong poses a serious threat to the existence of the Chinese State. Therefore, starting in July of 1999, the government began a nation-wide suppression of Falun Gong.

We respectfully request that when you visit China in October, you address this crucial issue with Chinese President Hu Jintao. It is of vital significance that these human rights abuses be adequately investigated and those responsible punished. Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation regarding this critical issue.

Sincerely,

Thomas H. Kean, Jr.
Senator

Eric Munoz, M.D.
Assemblyman

Jon M. Bramnick
Assemblyman
