How Are the Political and Judiciary Committee and 610 Office in Laizhou City Building a "Harmonious Society"?

Oct. 29, 2005 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Laizhou City

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Zhao Facheng and Ms. Ren Zhifang, Falun Dafa practitioners in Laizhou City, Shandong Province, were illegally arrested and detained by the 610 Office for distributing truth-clarification materials on May 4, 2005. During their detention, the 610 personnel pressured them many times to find out their source of truth-clarification materials.

Mr. Zhao was not feeling well. He was sent to a hospital for an examination and was diagnosed with liver cancer. The 610 Office informed his family so they could bail him out, but they couldn't afford the bail. On June 22, the 610 Office released Zhao.

Ms. Ren was illegally detained for as long as three months and was persecuted both physically and spiritually. In early August 2005, she had a distended abdomen. The hospital examined her and found that her abdominal cavity was full of tumors. The 610 Office informed her family so they could bail her out, and they released her on August 8.

Mr. Shi Lunyun, a Falun Dafa practitioner in Laizhou City, was arrested and detained by the Laizhou 610 Office on December 29, 2004, for distributing truth-clarification materials. During his detention, he suffered from severe mental and physical pain. When he was examined in a hospital, his blood pressure was as high as 230, and he was diagnosed with heart disease. It was difficult for him to walk. He was not released until September 1, 2005, after being detained for almost eight months.

Even though these three practitioners were released, the Laizhou 610 Office ordered the local police stations and their work places to continue monitoring them. They sent people to the practitioners' homes to do so-called "monthly reviews" and sign some documents. The practitioners and their families continued to suffer from spiritual torture and persecution.

At around 9 a.m. on July 6, 2005, a plainclothes police officer from the Laizhou National Security Brigade arrested practitioner Mr. Jiang Xudong. Only nine days later, on July 16, he was illegally sentenced by the Laizhou 610 Office to two years in a forced labor camp and sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City, Shandong Province.

Recently, under the order of the Laizhou Political and Judicial Committee, the Laizhou 610 Office ordered every business, institution and organization to send practitioners in their units to the Dianzi Brainwashing Center in Laizhou City before October 1. The brainwashing started on September 26 and was scheduled to run for 15 days. The 610 Office even assigned a quota for each unit. Some Neighborhood Administration Offices and local businesses deceived and forced practitioners living in the neighborhood or working in the businesses to go to the Dianzi Brainwashing Center in Laizhou. They threatened to deduct practitioners' salaries or lay them off if they refused to comply.

Before October 1, under the order of the Laizhou Political and Judicial Committee, every business, institution and organization (including the Laizhou City Education Committee) issued documents based upon the Political and Judicial Committee's instructions. The document required every unit to closely monitor Falun Gong practitioners. Some businesses and organizations have understood the truth of Falun Gong, so they responded sensibly. In some businesses, however, the content of the document was announced at a mass meeting. Falun Gong practitioners were summoned. Some even demanded that practitioners ask for a permit before leaving Laizhou for any reason.

The Chinese Communist Party and Jiang's scoundrel regime recklessly violate human rights and persecute kind Falun Gong practitioners. At the same time, they lie to the general public, saying that they will build a so-called "harmonious society." Is this how the Political and Judicial Committee and 610 Office in Laizhou City are building a "harmonious society?"
