(Clearwisdom.net) I would like to begin by relating the following story from the China's Tang dynasty:
Emperor Tanggaozong's (1) favorite female companion was clearly Wu Zetian (2). Yet, Wu Zetian envied Queen Wang and the imperial concubine Xiao Shu for their position in the royal household. She framed them, and led Emperor Tanggaozong to strip Queen Wang and Xiao Shu of their royal status and ostracize them, sending them to an isolated palace (3).
After some time, Wu Zetian heard that the emperor still held the two in his heart. She could not bear the thought and brutally killed Queen Wang and Xiao Shu. Yet, Wu Zetian no longer found peace, because the spirits of the queen and concubine haunted her throughout the palace. It was a chilling experience, as the spirits looked scary, with blood running down their bodies and disheveled hair. Wu Zetian was unnerved by the spirits and deeply afraid. Therefore, she moved to a different palace. Alas, she did not find peace there either as the specters still haunted her. After some time, she moved to Luoyang city and never returned to Chang'an city.
After Wu Zetian had seized power, she became the empress and encouraged people to tattle on each other. She trusted vindictive officials Zhou Xing and Lai Junchen, who framed and killed innocent people. Their torture methods were brutal and people could not bear them, seeking a quick death instead. The victims resigned themselves to the perpetrators' false charges, "plotting to overthrow the empress' regime," and were sentenced to quick deaths. Such horror scarred government employees deeply.
No one imagined that the tables would one day be turned.
Someone reported the cruel official Zhou Xing and charged him "with plotting to overthrow the empress' regime." Wu Zetian asked Lai Junchen to be in charge of Zhou Xing's sentencing. As Lai Junchen was worried that Zhou would not admit to the crime, he thought to trick him. Before the case was heard, Lai chatted with Zhou Xing and asked him how he would make a suspect admit to a crime. Zhou Xing taught Lai an inhuman torture method, which Lai used on Zhou Xing.
He prepared a wood pile, set it on fire, and then put a large water vessel on the fire. Then, Lai read Zhou Xing's charges and "asked" him to get into the vessel. Zhou Xing did not get into the vessel, but admitted to the charge immediately. Wu Zetian remembered that Zhou Xing had been useful to her, and thus expelled him to Lingnan instead of killing him. On the way to Lingnan, Zhou Xing was killed by one of his enemies and Lai was executed for committing a crime. Lai's enemy dismembered his body and ate his flesh.
After reading this story from history, I thought of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecuting Falun Gong.
Using a modern mind-set for analyzing the thought, I began with the thought that Wu Zetian ignored law and ruled the country based on her personal whims. She did whatever she felt like doing, including killing people and falsely charging people with crimes they had not committed. This is the mirror image of what the CCP and Jiang Zemin's regime are doing in the persecution of Falun Gong.
Jiang Zemin is afraid to face the global peaceful appeal of Falun Gong practitioners. To avoid Falun Gong practitioners, Jiang leaves and enters hotels from employee entrances. He even feared to see the color yellow because Falun Gong practitioners generally wear yellow clothes. He killed so many people. The spirits of the dead will haunt him for life. It is just like Wu Zetian was afraid to return to Chang'an. They all committed heinous crimes and great sins. Their inner fear reflects their behavior.
The perpetrators who carried out the details of the persecution of Falun Gong are at all different levels of the CCP, including among the police. They are all depraved and corrupt people. With Jiang's order of "Beating to death is counted as suicide," the perpetrators went to the extreme when they tortured practitioners. As of the date of this article, over 2,785 Falun Gong practitioners have been confirmed dead due to torture.
Retribution of the evildoers began soon after the persecution began. We heard of traffic accidents, sudden illness, trouble with the law, sudden death etc. Such incidents reflect a similar trend than the ends of the vicious officials Zhou Xing and Lai Junchen. Persecuting innocent people, these perpetrators who brainwash people based on CCP propaganda do not believe in the heavenly law, "Evil meets with retribution." They brutally torture Falun Gong practitioners and never think about their own lives. In fact, what waits for them is a fate similar to that of Zhou Xing and Lai Junchen.
Talking from the perspective of the Falun Gong persecution, any person in Mainland China who dares to speak up for the practitioners and against the persecution of Falun Gong would have to face CCP repression. Cases in point are Falun Gong practitioners, and human rights lawyers who fought for practitioners' human rights, such as Mr. Gao Zhicheng and Mr. Guo Guoting. Because of the CCP defamatory propaganda, the general public cannot learn the truth of the persecution. The CCP's false charges of "anti-government" and "anti-China" have petrified people. Chinese people fear to be persecuted if they are related in any way to Falun Gong, which puts up another barrier for people to learn the truth. Again, this mirrors what happened in the Tang dynasty story above. The people in those days were tense and and could sense imminent danger, too.
Yet, there is still a marked difference between the rules of the CCP, Jiang and Wu Zetian. Wu Zetian only focused on royal families and government workers who might attempt to overthrow her. She did not touch common people. The CCP and Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong do not leave anyone out of the equation. The persecution affects everyone in society.
Another marked difference lies in the fact that despite slander and false accusations, Falun Gong practitioners do not yield. They peacefully expose the persecution, restrain the perpetrators and tell the people that Falun Dafa is good. "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" is of great value to everyone. The practitioners openly safeguard justice and file lawsuits against the criminal who perpetrated the persecution -- Jiang Zemin. It reminds people that while the perpetrators are doing their evil, their fate is set in stone. They are doomed to meet with justice for their misdeeds.
History gave us a great and actual story, depicting "Good is rewarded with good, and evil meets with retribution." This principle was the same in the past, as it is today, and as it will be in the future.
Note:
1. Emperor Tanggaozong, 628-683 A.D., also called Li Zhi, was the third emperor of the Tang Dynasty.
2. Wu Zetian, 624-765 A.D, is the first and only empress in Chinese history. She was an imperial concubine of Emperor Tanggaozong before becoming empress.
3. Cold Palace is a form of punishment for female members of the emperor's royal families. The victim will be confined to the palace, ostracized, isolated and ignored by the emperor.
