Practitioner Zhang Guixia is from Xinbin county of Fushun city, Liaoning province. In January of 2002, she was reported to the authorities while distributing truth-clarifying materials in the countryside. She was sentenced to three years in a labor camp and sent to Masanjia Labor Camp. Two years later she was transferred to Dalian Labor Camp. After Dalian Labor Camp was closed down, she was once again transferred back to Masanjia Labor Camp. By the end of 2004, she was extremely emaciated and weak after suffering long-term torture.

As soon as Dafa practitioners arrive at Masanjia Labor Camp, they are surrounded by many collaborators. They use rumors and distorted logic to confuse and "transform" practitioners (see "reformed"). They force practitioners to sit with their legs crossed on top of each other as in the sitting meditation, then tie them in that position and tie their hands behind their backs. They also hang practitioners to heating pipes. Some practitioners pass out from the pain, and others' legs have become crippled. Some practitioners are forced to squat on a brick-sized area or kneel down on the floor while being deprived of drinking water, given limited usage of the toilet and provided with poor food.

Practitioner Xia Ning has been tortured for three years, but he remains very determined. Vicious police tortured him using electric batons, handcuffed him behind his back, put him in solitary confinement, and forced him to sit on the Tiger Bench for three months without allowing him to use the toilet. His buttocks were severely wounded from the intense torture, and he became extremely weak. Practitioner Wang Baoqin from Linghai city was hung up by just her thumbs to a heating pipe in the bathroom by police officer Zhang Huan. Eventually she became unable to walk due to the torture. In early November of 2003, the female second division of Masanjia Labor Camp escalated the torture and started another round of forced "transformation." They incited a "help and teach group" to insult and beat up practitioners, shock them with electric batons, and subject them to the Tiger Bench. They forced practitioners to copy articles denouncing Falun Gong. If they refused, the police would tie them up, handcuff them behind their backs and shock them with electric batons. Wang Shulan from the first brigade was severely beaten. Her eyes became black and blue, and her neck was covered with sweat from the electric shocks. Geng Lijuan from the third brigade was grabbed by the hair and struck against a wall until she lost consciousness. Sun Guiying from the third brigade was tied up tightly and her arms were forcefully lifted behind her back. She became soaked with sweat and screamed in agony. Wu Qiang from the third brigade was locked up in a bathroom as soon as he arrived at Masanjia Labor Camp. He suffered leg pain, back pain and edema from the torture. Zhang Huan from the third brigade's fourth division handcuffed Wei Liming to a heating pipe and did not allow him to sleep for five days straight. His legs and feet became so swollen that he was unable to put on shoes. Liu Baoyu was forced to stand up for days on end. Every practitioner is covered with injuries.

Because of my belief in Falun Gong, I have been brutally tortured over the past five years by Jiang Zemin's regime. I have been illegally detained four times, had several thousand yuan extorted from me and was sentenced to one year in a labor camp.
