Argentina: Falun Gong Practitioners Participate in Chinatown's New Year Garden Party in the Capital (Photos)

Feb. 25, 2005 |   By Falun Gong practitioners in Argentina

(Clearwisdom.net) Each Chinese Lunar New Year a garden party is held in Chinatown in Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina. Falun Gong practitioners have participated in the event three times. When applying for participation the first time, the sponsor did not learn much about Falun Gong, but Falun Gong practitioners performed extremely well and were welcomed by the local people, and the sponsor was very happy. The second year, Falun Gong practitioners were allowed to hang up Falun Dafa banners across the street. This year, when the practitioners applied, the sponsor especially stated that the banner could be hung up across the street like last year, and they offered ladders to practitioners. On the day of garden party, the sponsor noticed there were many people crowded in front of the Falun Gong practitioners' booth, and made a point to come over twice to ask if any help was needed.

The local people surrounded the Falun Gong practitioners' booth, watched practitioners perform the exercises, and read books. The truth clarification posters were most appealing. Upon seeing that innocent Falun Gong practitioners suffer brutal persecution by the Chinese Communist Party's regime, they immediately condemned the Party. Many people said they learned about the persecution of Falun Gong in China several days ago from a law program that has the highest audience ratings on TV.

The persecution facts of Falun Gong touches people's hearts

When people looked at photos exposing the persecution facts and torture methods used to persecute Falun Gong practitioners, they even forgot about watching the practitioners' exercise demonstration. Instead they concentrated on reading the explanations attached to the photos word by word. The practitioners prepared detailed information, and people stopped and looked at the truth clarification materials for over 20 minutes at times, and didn't leave until finishing reading the information available. A flow of people came from morning to evening to the practitioners' booth. Many people were too emotional to speak a word after looking at the exhibit, and many shed tears.

A Chinese man was looking at a truth clarification poster when a practitioner gave him a flyer. He didn't accept it, and pushed away the flyer. At this moment, an Argentinean woman nearby stared at him and said angrily and loudly, "Are you Chinese? Don't you want to know what is happening in your country? If everybody were like you, the Communist regime would persecute your people even more!" The practitioner thought that the Chinese man would either walk away or be angry, but on the contrary, shortly after the woman's talk, he stretched out his hand and accepted the flyer.

Some Chinese people who saw Falun Gong practitioners and wanted to read the truth about the persecution, dared not come over to look at the persecution facts, because of the influence of the Communist Party's high-pressure rule over the years has made them form a habit of self-protection. They stood quite far away in the crowd and looked in the direction of the practitioners' exhibit. Practitioners went up to them and gave them flyers. They told them, "Please pass these on to your friends after you finish reading." A young man from China said in a low voice, "I got a copy of the 'Nine Commentaries on Communist Party' the other day. I have finished reading it, and I will lend it to my friends, but I won't give it to others, as it is precious. I want to keep it for myself!"

The flow of people kept coming by the practitioners' booth even though it was getting dark and other booths had closed. The practitioners still demonstrated the exercises and clarified the truth to people who were interested.
