Facts of the Persecution

1. Lawless Officials in Yanji Cigarette Factory Party Committee Persecute Falun Dafa Practitioners

Ever since July 20, 1999, the Party Committee of Hongda Company (under Yanji City Cigarette Factory) consorted with the Party Committee of the Factory to persecute employees who are Falun Dafa practitioners. Party Committee Secretary Li Weixin of the Hongda Company reports regularly to the Yanji City 610 Office and helps police arrest Falun Dafa employees and send them to detention centers, brainwashing classes, or labor camps. The company's Vice President Liu Zhiming, Deputy Party Secretary Jin Shenglong, Packaging Material Plant Manager Jin Longcan, and the Party Secretary Piao Yongquan reduced all employed Falun Dafa practitioners' salaries to the lowest grades. They also force practitioners to work overtime without pay. The Party system at each level persecutes Falun Dafa practitioners, reporting those who refuse to succumb to brainwashing to higher-level party cadres for further persecution. They threaten practitioners with salary reductions or suspensions, job dismissal and torture at police stations. They sent practitioners who absolutely refused to cooperate to the 610 Office.

2. Crimes Committed by Police at the Qiqihar City Labor Camp

Police in the Qiqihar Labor Camp (formerly the Shuanghe Labor Camp) commit unrestrained torture against Falun Dafa practitioners. They inhumanly beat Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Guofang to death and disabled many practitioners by cuffing them on the iron chair (1) for a long periods of time. On February 16, 2004, police started a new round of torture activities, calling it "Breaking the Ice." They force practitioners to write the Three Statements, plus a list of names and addresses of all relatives, friends and acquaintances who are practitioners. If the practitioners refuse, the police drag them to a small cell, tie them onto the iron chair, and then beat and curse them. If practitioners still will not cooperate, the police tie their arms onto the iron chair, tie their hands and feet together, and then hang their hands up by ropes tied to the iron chair as well. The police even pull the ropes up and then repeatedly release them suddenly, often resulting in immediate unconsciousness due to the extreme pain. Police then pour cold water or drugs into practitioners' mouths, and resume the physical abuse afterwards. Ms. Wang Yanxing was beaten until she could not breathe normally; Ms. Zhang Liqun's arms were covered with dark purple bruises, and she could not sit straight because of the pain in her lower back. To this day, she still cannot walk. Ms. Xu Hongmei and Ms. Gao Shuying cannot stand up and must lie down all the time. Ms. Jiang Yuzhu was tortured until she was maimed and Ms. Wang Guofang was beaten to death. Falun Dafa practitioners are forced to do heavy labor, and they are reduced to no more than skin and bones, struggling under these oppressive and life threatening conditions.
