Germany: Raising Awareness in Einstein's Birthplace about the Genocide Against Falun Gong (Photos)

April 25, 2005

(Clearwisdom.net) On the 2nd of April, German practitioners organized an information day in the city of Ulm. Ulm is Albert Einstein's birthplace. Einstein escaped from Germany when the Nazis persecuted the Jews. Another pair of local celebrities are the Hul brothers, who were persecuted to death for opposing the authoritarian rule of the Nazis.

At present, in China, and even in places outside China, similar cases of persecution are taking place against people who practice Falun Gong.

Falun Gong is a spiritual practice of peaceful meditation and exercises. The practice's teachings are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance. It was introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in 1992. People who learned the practice regained their health and improved their moral standard. Falun Gong spread rapidly by word of mouth, without the need for any advertisements.

In just seven years, the number of practitioners rose rapidly and exceeded the number of Communist Party members. Many party members and government officials also practiced Falun Gong. The Chinese government was supportive at first, after witnessing the positive effects of Falun Gong. Later, the then Chinese President Jiang Zemin saw Falun Gong as a threat and envied the degree of popularity that Falun Gong enjoyed in China. He ordered the suppression of Falun Gong and established the 610 Office to persecute the practice. He invested enormous amounts of money and manpower into this agency, to carry out his personal vendetta of genocide against Falun Gong. Since 1999, Falun Gong practitioners, along with their family members and friends, have been brutally persecuted.

The Jiang regime has also been trying to smother the truth of Falun Dafa and the persecution through a media propaganda campaign that has deceived the Chinese people and used lies and deceit to turn them against Falun Gong. Outside China, the regime and the Chinese Communist Party have also been persecuting Falun Gong by means of a number of malicious tactics, including anonymous harassing phone calls and physical attacks on practitioners, exerting pressure on the foreign media and spreading lies to foreign government officials.

It was a fine day in Ulm and the pedestrian area was full of people. Some practitioners demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises while some others simulated methods of torture used on China's imprisoned practitioners. A lot of passersby read the posters and banners displayed by practitioners, in particular those with details of the torture. Many people could not understand why such brutal things still happen in the 21st century. They signed their names to support the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin.

One woman was shocked by the brutality revealed by the photos of practitioners being tortured. One person took several truth-clarifying newspapers and wanted to help distribute them. Even a young man who appeared to be drunk calmed down to learn about the truth and asked for a copy of the newspaper. Many people learned about the persecution and went to tell their families and friends. They agreed that the persecution must be ended immediately.
